Hidden Gem located in Fort Lauderdale

....this is a great hotel, it is relatively new < 2 years old. Has all of the amenities you could want and more. It is in a neighborhood north of trendy Fort Lauderdale Beach, but you can easily get around on foot or by water taxi. The beach is 2 blocks away. The neighboor hood has many small restaurants and shops and lots of places to explore. Free parking in the lot across the street from 6PM-8AM, otherwise you will need to feed the meters or valet ($15 a night). They have a nice pool, but sun is limited to early in the day and late afternoon. The only thing I did not like was the $80 hold per night on the credit card when everything was already prepaid. It is a great hotel for the money, I will return!

I surely recommend this hotel to anyone. It was the BEST! If you're looking to get away for a couple of days and spent them peacefully...this is the place.

Overall the room was very clean. Nice and very cozy room. I would definately stay there again.

Very pleased with the service.

Hotel II Lugano was the perfect place to stay. Everything, such as Bayside in Miami, Key Biscaine were very accessible from the hotel. The room service was great. However I was a little disappointed the the boat driver was on vacation. I would of love to taken my family out for the day, perhaps next time. Thanks

If you expect to visit Ft. Lauderdale Beach- this hotel is NOT where you should stay!

The staff is rather rude/creative with the tales that they guests (rather excuses why they can't or won't do something). There is NO reliable Direct TV; you are NOT near Ft. Lauderdale Beach proper- you can walk for like 3 miles to get there! They offer a free shuttle at THEIR convenience. The room is not vacuumed daily; the room service- if you like to eat raw meat- then this is YOUR dream place! Food quality of their new restaurant "Da Campo"= unfortunate. They rate themselves comparable with the Ritz- yet that is laughable. Would never stay there again!

Very Nice Experience

We really enjoyed our stay and thought the room was great. We had booked a "superior ocean view" room which does offer a view of the ocean, but you are about 1-2 blocks off the beach. Next time, I will book a "waterway view" as they are the same price and I liked that side better. The pool is on the side of the building and seems to be mostly shaded, but nice areas to lay out in the sun on the intercoastal waterway. Easy walk to the beach, too. The location was perfect for us. I will definitley stay there again.

For the price I would expect better

Valet parking is mandatory, the problem with that is for the added fee the valet was no where to be found. After checking in we still had to wait for the valet to take the car. Our room was suppose to be ocean view and that was a joke. The ocean was about a mile away and we got a great view of the parking lot. On checkout day the housekeeper actually came up to the room at 9am and asked what time me and my wife were leaving. Nothing like feeling rushed!! Definitely a do not return hotel.

Pricey for the stay

When we arrived at the hotel, the valet parking is mandatory, the problem was there was no valet to be found. Wound up checking in first and waiting until valet showed up. We had the ocean view which was ridiculous as the ocean was a good mile away and the view of the parking lot was what we saw. During checkout day the housekeeper actually came to the room at 9am and asked what time are we leaving.

Hip, Comfortable Stay

This is a condo-hotel that has gorgeous decor, really hip South Beach feel, and offers comfortable ammenities - great if you are not planning to be on the beach all day since it is a rfew blocks from th ebeach and not walking distance to Beachplace or very many restaurants. However, they have compolimentary shuttles to nearby hot spots. Perfect if you want more space - our suite had a full size refrigerator, dishwasher, and even a awasher/dryer and silverware, coffeemaker, wine opener...it was great. We brought our two toy pomeranians and they were comfortable and welcomed (with pet fee). There is a great Greek restaurant across the street that is walking distance and also a liquor store and drug store but most of the other stores in the shopping center that is the closest were out of business. Overall, a really great stay.
