Trip Type: Romance Review 1 of 54Decent Hotel
It's a decent hotel that doesn't cost too much for what you get. The room was clean as well as the facilities, although it was a little tight. It's very close to the metro which is the best way to get around DC. We weren't impressed with the surrounding area (restaurants, shops, etc.), but it's a good deal if you're checking out the free Smithsonian Museums (best part of my whole trip).

Trip Type: Romance Review 2 of 54A Romantic Weekend
My husband booked a trip to DC for us for a romantic weekend getaway. After searching online for various hotels, he decided to book with the Palomar because of the location and affordable pricing. Boy were we amazed! (Please note this was our first DC trip, as well). When we drove up to the Palomar, we were greeted by the valet drivers who very pleasantly took our bags for us and parked our car in their exclusive lot. The check in was very quick, and we immediately went to our room. We were amazed. The room was spacious and beautiful and the bedding was cozy and elegant. We went down to the bar, Urbana, the first night, but it was a little too high class for us, considering we didn't pack any nice clothes, only sneakers and such. The hotel was only a block from the Metro train, where we found it easy to tour the city the whole weekend. Our only negative experiance was with the people in the room beside us, because at 4am they were making a TON of noise and being loud in the hall. Other than that, we had an amazing time and will definately be back!!

Trip Type: Romance Review 3 of 54Better than expected
The Palomar was a great value and I was very happy with the hotel. A beautiful lobby with a warm fireplace, cool modern decor and happening bar give you a good welcoming. Very nice rooms and hallways, well maintained and with up to date amenities. Obviously this hotel is up to date and it shows in many different ways throughout.

Hotel was clean. Service was friendly/prompt. Strongly reccomend getting a room with spa tub. Hotel is located in a quiet area. Metro is about three blocks walking.

Trip Type: Romance Review 8 of 54Excellent Hotel
We have stayed in several kimpton hotels, and this one is a favorite. The hotel is very nice. they strictly enforce the no-smoking policy in the rooms which is a huge plus for us. The king suite is worth the extra money...very large and comfortable. The location was perfect for what we wanted to see and do. We highly recommend the restaurant Al Tiramisu, just a block up from the hotel. Our only complaint with the hotel is that we had a minor issue with their valet service, but management was quick to work it out for us and make sure that we were happy. We will definitely stay here again!

Trip Type: Romance Review 10 of 54Terrible service by staff. Beware.
I have stayed at several Kimpton Hotels and this is the worst customer service I have every received not only at a Kimpton Hotel but any hotel I have ever stayed at. First, when first walked into the hotel with three bags no one helped me with the front door of the hotel or no one helped me with my bags. Even after checking in at the front desk and getting my room key no one helped me with my bags or my girlfriend's bags. The worst part of this was that there were several staff people in the lobby, but again no one attempted to help us with our bags. I ordered room service twice and the snacks took well over an hour to arrive both times. The worst papar of the whole experience was on the last morning of my stay I called and requested a late check out b/c my girlfriend was extremely sick and then some addition time to recover and I was rudely told that they would not extend my stay and if I did not check out by noon that I would be charged for a half day immediately. I will never stay at the hotel again.

Trip Type: Romance Review 11 of 54Great Hotel
This was an excellent hotel. Very modern and extremely comfortable beds. But one thing I would recommend is to bring your own shampoo/soap. Their shampoo/soap was not that great, did not feel like you were actually cleaning yourself. But other than that, the restuarant has great food but very pricey.

Trip Type: Romance Review 12 of 54Nice modern hotel but service is uneven
Front desk staff was rude and indifferent at times and room service was rushed and overpriced. And then our tray stayed out in the hallway for almost a full day.

Trip Type: Romance Review 13 of 54Great hotel, great neighborhood
We'll definitely be staying at the hotel palomar on future trips to DC. For the price we paid, I thought the service was outstanding. The hotel is thoughtfully designed and decorated. It's in a great location, with easy access to the downtown and Georgetown areas.

Trip Type: Romance Review 14 of 54amazing relaxing great location
We were thoroughly impressed. The size of the room was overwhelming. We were in walking distance to the national mall, all monuments, georgetown, and the whole dupont circle area. I would highly recommend this hotel. We have stayed in a kimpton hotel in Boston and loved it also.

Hotel is in great location. When we arrived there was a festive air in the lobby as the hotel was serving free wine from 5-6 and people were sitting around talking and relaxing. This a regular open wine bar at same time every day. In the morning, they serve coffee in lobby. The on-site restaurant is excellent. The rooms are nice, the service prompt and professional. Would recommend this hotel.
