Trip Type: Special Event Review 1 of 127Local resident staying at Hotel
I live in KC and chose to stay at this hotel for our wedding night. I was a little underwhelmed, this hotel is in need of a cosmetic upgrade. No staff problems just in need of an upgrade.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 3 of 127Hotel terrific--service at breakfast poor.
Hotel service was awesome--service at the breakfast was very slow--took 1&1/2 hours for breakfast due to short staffing--almost missed flight!

Trip Type: Special Event Review 4 of 127Good experience
Few little qliches with continental brkfst with some in our party but very pleased with the front desk, valet persons and restaurant help and also friendliness of staff when seen in hallway etc. Also very cooperative in letting us keep first room without having to change rooms for our 2nd booked room as with all the activities for wedding, having to switch would have been a real problem time-wise and just moving everything. Also helped dtr when she left a special phone charger different than most, and she discovered it 45 minutes after all of us long gone from Hotel. When called, they sent someone up to the room and found it right where was left, brought it to front desk and she was able to pick it up on way to airport for honeymoon trip. Excellent help!!!

Briefly, hotel help all very polite and helpful. Couple glitches in continental brkfst for some in our party in other rooms and lack of wash cloths in our room lst nite, which was more than taken care of next day. Valet service excellent as was front desk and 12 Baltimore help. All help met in hallways etc. very friendly. When something quite important left behind, called front desk hour later when discovered and they sent up room people who found it where we said would be, took to front desk where dtr picked up on way to airport and honeymoon. Excellent help I'd say. Also because of circumstances we made our reservations under 2 different bookings and hotel let us use same room both nites instead of making us ck out and back in, which with the timing of rehersal and wedding etc. would have been horrible to have to switch rooms with ck-in and ck-out time lags.

The bathroom was outdated..Our bathtub was very old,it was chipped around the drain..We had a king bed and sitting area which was a very nice size room and quite accomadating..The television and the stand were very outdated but we were told the Hotel is planning on upgrading the televisions after the holidays..All in all the Hotel was nice and we would stay there again

This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. The room was excellent, the location was close to all the downtown attractions and the service was top notch.

The Hotel Phillips is an okay property. The rooms are fine but the decorating is tired. I was hoping it would be restored to some of its historic splendor. However it was fine until you hit the workout room. Ugh. The equipment was RUSTED and in poor repair. It was stuffy, no fan and old, old tvs. With a little bit of effort it could be upgraded.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 11 of 127Outstanding Hotel!
This hotel had everything a guest could ever need in a hotel. It is located conveniently in the heart of downtown Kansas City, a short walk or cab ride to the convention center, the Power and Light District, as well as bars and restaurants. The hotel staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, the bell boy even had the weather report for my hometown on the day I was checking out. The rooms were clean, there was a bar and there was a nice restaurant located inside the hotel itself. The hotel is old, but has a charming vintage decor throughout! My only gripe, no ice machine on my floor ;) Overall, this hotel was fantastic.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 12 of 127Exceeded My Expectations!
I was not expecting this hotel to be as nice as it was, believing the cost was mostly due to location. Nevertheless, it exceeded my expectations. They prep your bed like you are on a cruise ship. Staff was extremely friendly. Complimentary Valet Service. It doesn't have that great of a free breakfast buffet, but hotels usually that nice don't usually offer free breakfast, so who can complain? I will definitely stay here again. Great value for the money.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 13 of 127Great history and hotel
REally enjoyed the hotel. Only two negatives room size and elevators are slow. Other than that what a great place and piece of history. I would recommend it to anyone.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 15 of 127Great Experience
We had a wonderful experience during our stay at the hotel. The valet was very friendly and helpful. We actually arrived very early because we were in a wedding that was being held at the hotel that afternoon. They allowed us to check in at 10 am which helped us out a great deal. All of the staff from the front desk to the maids were all friendly and made you feel important. Our room was bigger than expected and the valet that helped us up with our bags informed us that the hotel plans to do more renovations in the near future. We actually live in town, but we will definately stay at this hotel again when my husband and I are in need of get-a-way.
