A legendary hotel that lives up to its reputation. Location on Embassy Row is as good as it gets.

Trip Type: Business Review 2 of 20Good hotel
We loved this hotel on Embassy Row. Great location, friendly staff. We had a wonderful time. The major negative is that wireless access is not free, and it does not work well. I just gave up after the first day.

Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 20Comfortable hotel and a great location
The location of the Fairfax is excellent, near Dupont Circle and a short walk to a Metro station. Many restaurants in the area. Lobby is very nice. Courteous staff. Very nice sized room and a beautiful bathroom. Loved the shower and the thermometer built into the shower handle. Excellent cleaning staff. Turndown service as well. I didn't eat at their restaurant, but it was clearly very popular.

Trip Type: Business Review 8 of 20Luxurious with Attentive Staff
This hotel is less than a 5 min walk from Dupont Circle with tons of restaurants and shops. It is also right by all the embassies. There is also a metro station within 5 min. The staff is so attentive and ready to help you with anything. They provide anything you need, including a complimentary newspaper each morning and bottle of water with turndown service every night. However, the restaurant on site is overpriced ($4 for a soda or brewed coffee) and the food is much better at the nearby restaurants.

Trip Type: Business Review 9 of 20Nice place to stay
The room was large and comfortable. The large desk made it easy to work on my laptop.

Trip Type: Business Review 11 of 20very nice
traditional upscale hotel, formerly the Four Seasons. Extremely nice room. 2 blocks to Metro stop--Dupont (north) One of the nicest hotels I have stayed in DC.

Trip Type: Business Review 12 of 20Great Hotel, comfort and location
Loved the hotel and the location, very convenient. My only complaint was the $10 charge for in room wireless, though it is provided in the lobby and the business center. Charging for wireless just seems a bit antiquated for todays business traveler expecting to work from their room.

Trip Type: Business Review 13 of 20Gorgeous compact luxury hotel
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We got lucky and booked an incredibly inexpensive room just prior to their grand re-opening. Aside from the great price (which I'm not sure we would be able to get again if we returned), the location was very convenient (few blocks from Dupont Circle and surrounded by embassies). Most impressive was the room however, the bed was luxurious, the room and bathroom were spacious, with very high-end decor and immaculately clean. The concierge service was a bit slow but there was only one gentleman there so understandable. The lobby and hotel itself doesn't have a ton of things to do inside, but we didn't come to Washington DC to hang out inside the hotel. It has a nice restaurant and bar and that was plenty for us.

Trip Type: Business Review 14 of 20Good Potential
Stayed here with the understanding that the hotel rooms had been renovated but some of the public space, i.e., restaurant were still under construction. The alternative place for dining was a small banquet room on the second floor which was very inadequate in terms of seating.
