Trip Type: Not Provided Review 2 of 15Nice Hotel....Bad Attitude
This hotel has so much potential, but the staff is lazy, unprofessional and callous. I was overcharged for an item and after 4 attempts, they still haven't made good....it wasn't a lot of money, but it's the principal. They made me feel like a criminal. I will never go back...it's too bad because the hotel is pretty cool.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 3 of 15Fun, Funky, Friendly
Ace Hotel and Swim Club is a made over Ho Jo's situated along a strip of East Palm Canyon Dr. with other similar hotels, only Ace has one upped every other hotel by transforming what was a mediocre at best establishment to something quite unique. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the rooms are quirky and different, with canvas lined walls and bed coverings, slats on opposite walls with hooks that hold complimentary robes and of all things a hiking stick for treks if you so choose. The standard rooms are a bit small, but there are patio rooms that are quite a bit larger with two or three beds and even sofa beds. The patio rooms also allow pets, but the daily pet fee is a little steep: $25 per day per pet. Also the room rates are pretty reasonable, but they tack on a $20 a day "resort" fee on to that because of the spa facilities at the hotel. The gym, sauna and steam bath are gratis; there is a fee for massages and other services. There are bikes that are complimentary for rides around town. The restaurant and bar are nice, maybe a bit pricey, and on the weekends there is a bar outside by the pool. There are two pools and a huge hot tub (not jacuzzi) with oversize ottomans and hammocks for lounging, and the restaurant and bar serve food and drinks at the pool area. The landscaping is lovely; xeriscape and minimal but very effective, with drought tolerant trees and plantings and decomposed granite and concrete walkways throughout. All in all I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is thinking of a getaway to Palm Springs. Really the only negatives I could think of was the over the top pet fee and a room service tray that sat outside our neighbors door for the two days we were there. The manager was very embarrassed and apologetic when I told her about it so I guess I can give them a pass on that. Try Ace, you'll like it!

Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 4 of 15Indie Hipster Paradise
If you like the indie scene, you'll fit right in. From the hip front desk staff, to the bartenders poolside on longboard skateboards, every detail screams culture, fashion, design, and yet all the comfort and professionalism you would expect from a hotel. Inventive typography and graphic design throughout so if you're a design nerd you'll love it. Really well thought out room interiors with tons of creative touches and comfort. You have to check out the best stocked mini bar in the world. Late night poolside for cocktails and indie music while seeing outdoor fireplaces glow is a wonderful way to end the evening. Close to town for Palm Springs and on the way to Indio- great location.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 5 of 15unfulfilled expectations
I booked my room in early August. Based on the reviews and the rate I was expecting a lot more. The Ace Hotel is a former Howard Johnsons that has been renovated but still looks like a Hojos. The rooms are decent but are definitely not worth the price, especially when compared to other premium hotels I could have stayed at for a lot less money. After a long day, I was about to go to bed when I pulled the bedspread and comforter back to reveal linens that had not been changed. I called to ask for clean ones and waited 20 minutes before finally walking to the office to find out what the delay was. Normally I would not get upset about waiting for maid service, but at 10:30 at night, I was expecting it would be a priority to get a guest clean sheets so they could get to sleep. The location and grounds are below par. Also, the signage is difficult to see when driving by.

Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 6 of 15Destination Hotel.
Palm Springs has golf, restaurants, and a tramway...but if you don't want to do any of that there is no reason to venture away from this hotel. The pool is one of the best reasons to stay here but there are additional reasons. The room was clean with a contemporary design and filled with perfect creature comforts like high quality soap and the best stocked mini bar I've seen. The coffee shop is really a restaurant that serves excellent food and strives to use local ingredients. The knowledgeable staff is truly exceptional and really showed a natural desire to make sure we had a great time but it wasn't canned or forced. While sitting at the pool drinking cocktails you'd be a fool not to order either the truffle oil popcorn or the chips and salsa. We will definitely be heading back.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 8 of 15Hip Palm Springs Spot!
The Ace Hotel & Swim Club was a really cool spot. The rooms were very nice with a big comfy bed, nice tv and a well stocked wet bar. The restaurant there was good with a little bit of this and that for meals. Everyone there was incredibly friendly the bar there is ABSOLUTELY AWESOME! The best bartenders ever! Personally I am a bartender and these guys provide great customer service and make a great drink! Pool looked great but I forgot my trunks! They have bikes you can rent and ride throughout town for FREE! They also have firepits outside of your rooms, which is cool really a great place to stay I would go back in a heartbeat.

Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 10 of 15Can't Wait To Go Back!
I truely didn't want to leave. Everything about our stay was wonderful. The staff was incredibly friendly, the food was amazing and the rooms were super cozy. I felt like I was at an upscale camp, but there was nothing pretentious going on. Be sure to take advantage of all the offerings...bikes, spa, pool, jacuzzi, drinks by the pool...!!

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 12 of 15Needs to focus on customer service
Hotel is new, they still need to work with a few issues like ice machine around room, if you need ice you have to get from restaurant. Restaurant food was great but overpriced and the service was bad, i asked for a refill of my drink, but the waiter never showed up until we asked for the check, but other than that we were very happy with the hotel.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 15 of 15Nice change from the ordinary
Nice change from cookie cutter hotel rooms. Well designed and comfortable. It will even be better when they get a sign and or street number so that you can find the place- come on fellas, even a temporary sign is better than customer circling the block, which I did several times.
