Trip Type: With Friends Review 4 of 34Excellent room for the money
This was an excellent room for attending the HP Pavilion in San Jose, the walk to the Pavilion was super short. My friend and I ate at Henry's High Life; which is a stones throw from the Pavilion. The room was large enough for two men, we didn't utilize the jetted tub but my friend said he was going bring his wife down for an overnighter cause he really liked the area, weather and hotel.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 5 of 34What service?
This was a decent hotel for the price at a good location. Hotel clerk wasn't very friendly. He checked us into two rooms that were not ready even though we arrived after check in time. no compensation while we were forced to wait in the warm lobby. Breakfast was good, but I wouldn't call lettuce and cheese a light dinner.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 7 of 34Great location for concerts at HP, but...
Very basic. I only stayed here for the AC/DC concert. I'd stay again but for vacation etc, maybe somewhere else. I left my laptop there and placed several calls to see if it were found and was initially told no but on my third call was informed that they did have it.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 10 of 34WOAH!
So, i stayed in san fran and decided to go to san jose for a night, and it was really nice. the weather was warm, and the hotel was way better than i thought it would be. so the beds are actually pretty good. not super swanky, but definitely nice. the room had a fridge, like an actual size one and a microwave and a jacuzzi tub. my friend and i were bummed cuz we thought there was a hot tub and then realized there was one in our room!!! super convienantly located to a drug store and thai food. if i come to san jose again i am staying nowhere else!

Trip Type: With Friends Review 12 of 34Home away from Home.
This was a great hotel, inside it had a little kitchen area where there was a huge fridge, sink, stove, and microwave, its almost like a home away from your home. There was a jaccuzi, which was very big and very cool. The only complaint I had with this room was that the AC was on full blast when entering the room for the first time, and it dripped onto the carpet. The tv was also not a flat screen, they should have pay per view movies, it was basic cable. Other than that it was fine, the hotel also serves breakfast, and I dont mean just a muffin and coffee, they had eggs, bacon, and etc. It was great.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 13 of 34has potential, but needs some improvements.
the hotel is in a good downtown location and it's prices are very good, but the interior is pretty run down. i was never greeted or even looked at while checking in - i went up to the young man and told him i was there to check in. he told me to wait. the carpet is dirty and patched up. even though i was in a non-smoking room, the entire hallway/room/bedding reaked of smoke. the a/c was not working. the tub wouldn't drain the water. i would stay here again only because of the location and the low price, but i would be embarassed to recommend a friend to stay there.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 14 of 34Love This Place
The Arena Hotel is the only place that I will stay in San Jose. It is very convenient to HP Pavillion and the accomodations are fantastic. There is a Longs Drugs right next door for picking up almost anything that you may have forgotten. The rooms are spacious and clean. The bed is a little on the firm side, but not too firm as to be uncomfortable. The only issue I have is with the food service employees, they don't greet you when you arrive and tend to just sit and talk with each other, they aren't very helpful.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 15 of 34Easy walk to HP Pavillion
Hotel was comfortable and clean. Check-in was fast and easy, and the free breakfast was buffet style with good options. Only problem we encountered was with the shower. It would continuously change from extremely cold, to almost scaulding and then back to what we set it at. It was very strange. Other than that everything was good.
