Trip Type: Romance Review 1 of 109Can't beet the location
This Landmark hotel is front and center on union square within walking distance of shopping, excellent restaurants and transportation including the cable car. China town is couple of blocks away. The hotel is very well maintained and confortable rooms. The only thing I was unwilling to pay was for WiFI connection about $15. day. In this day and age you could get free WiFI just about anywhere. Valet parking is also steep at $50 a night. Keep that in mind when renting a car. tip: don't miss breakfast at Sear's fine foods one block away. Excellent food and service.

Trip Type: Romance Review 2 of 109A little pricey for what you get
The Hotel was undergoing renovations so it was a little dirty and dusty. Overall clean and great location right in Union Square shopping. Directly accross from Macys, and Saks 5th Ave. Thought it was a lil pricey for what we paid.

Trip Type: Romance Review 5 of 109Awful experience
I have been to San Francisco many times and always had a great stay at the Hotel Adagio. I decided to try something new, which was a big mitake. The Westin provided horrible service with very small rooms. We waited in a long line wrapping through the lobby to check in and were then given a room with broken air conditioning. After being relocated to a much smaller room we continued to be dissapointed. The hotel is very large and very busy. It is very loud all hours of the day.

This hotel is well located in San Franciso and has all the amenities that I need and that my wife require including workout and spa facilities.

Trip Type: Romance Review 7 of 109Very Disapointed
Hotel lacks good service. Long lines at check-in and a very small bar that was impossible to get in and have a drink. There was a wedding party at the hotel when we were there so there was a long wait for elevators

Trip Type: Romance Review 8 of 109Great Location
This was my second time to stay at the St. Francis Westin. It is in a prime location and the service we received was great. The only downside was that they were doing construction in the lobby, but the noise never bothered us in our room. The comfort of the rooms is wonderful! I love the pillows, comfortors, and the bed. After a long day of walking the city, bed was a great place to come "home" to. For those of you traveling to San Fran, FORGET the taxi to and from the airport. Take BART(the mass trasit system) We made the mistake of paying for taxis @$40 each way. Hotel didn't tell us about BART @$8 one way. Love this city. Have fun!

Tried to extend our stay and they were completly sold out. The front desk told us we had a very good rate through Hotels.com and that they could not come close to that rate.

The entire Staff was very accomodating and polite. The room was exceptionally clean. Food was great and room service was delivered in less than 30 minutes.

A first rate old world hotel that has been updated and has a wonderful staff. Concierge knew every restaurant, bus route, things to do. Room was huge and had a wonderful view. Only negative thing was too much air conditioning in the lobby areas, everyone was freezing!

The only problem with the hotel is that parking costs $55/day which is outrageous.

This hotel and it's location. You can walk to so many things and the hotel is beautiful. We stayed in the older section which was a little noisy but overall fine. The only thing that's painful is the almost $50 for parking. You might want to think about how much you'll use your car!

Trip Type: Romance Review 15 of 109Great Hotel/Great Location but pricey
The hotel is beautiful and in a great location. Easy access to public transportation. The only downfall was the room was very small for the price and the snacks in the mini-bar as well as the room service was way over priced. I highly recommend taking the BART or bus system. The "courtesy" shuttle was too expensive and the concierge often recommends travel by taxi when the BART or buy system is way less expensive. The hotel should offer a courtesy shuttle from the airport that is truly "courtesy" and not a rip off like the Super Shuttle you have to take.
