Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 2 of 176Convenient to Fremont St, but . . .
Old hotel, VERY smokey casino, clean but VERY tiny room, NOISY until late at night. Convenient parking and convenient to Fremont Street Experience. Price a bit high considering the above.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 3 of 176from Hawaii/ was a Great stay & fun!
i was excited to go to this hotel since the reviews were so mixed. I wanted to be in the 'downtown' area so i could do some shopping at the Outlet stores in downtown. I've stayed at some of the other downtown Fremont area hotels before & the $$ paid here was definitely worth it! The room was as pictured (had a Tower room) if not better! The beds were comfortable & service wonderful! Onr of the Pit Bosses & his crew spent time teaching me the game of craps! It was great & i had lots of fun! The hotel is 1 short block to Fremont St. & the hotel had security on the corner which made feel safe (i traveled alone this time). Everyone was curteous, friendly & i would definitely go there again!

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 4 of 176Rooms over the parking garage.
The 1st time I stayed at the El cortez they put me in the tower, and it was very nice for the money. This time, I was given a room in the section of the hotel located on top of the parking garage. The room was much smaller. The water temperature in the shower constantly fluctuated making a shower quite unconfortable.

The hospitality staff failed to clean my room during the 3 nights I was there. I had to call for fresh towels.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 8 of 176Great room
The hotel stay was great and so were the staff! Room was very large and comfortable. The view from the tower room was awesome. I live in Las Vegas but had to fly in/out from a Chicago stay. So i was so impressed with the furnishings at the El Cortez. The only problems we had with the stay were the key cards which were replaced immediately. The cleanliness was great but the remainings of prior customers under the couch should have been vaccumed and the ceiling of the bathroom needed wiped down. But overall, the whole place was very clean and well maintained. Hats off to the El Cortez!

I have seen and past this hotel quite a few times and even visited the casino, but this was my first time staying here. I really enjoyed my stay . The staff was great as well as the room, staff and food.

I didn't appreciate the depressing surroundings of homeless individuals walking up and down the street. Bathtub not very clean!

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 14 of 176Small but modest
If you are familiar with the Fremont experience, then this would definitely place of stay. The rooms are small but they seemed to be maintained fresh paint, carpet was nice. Seriously, I stayed @ the Circus Circus this February and it was more run down than El Cortez
