Trip Type: With Friends Review 1 of 36Perfect for girls weekend
We had a girls weekend and the hotel worked perfectly. The beach, view, price all exceeded our expectations. The only complaint we had were the beds were a bit too soft.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 2 of 36Great Location
We were pleased to learn that there was a Winn-Dixie, Dunkin' Donuts, and a McDonalds within walking distance so that we did not have to get in the car every time we wanted something. When we did drive, we were just a few minutes from everything. The hotel was very nicely decorated and kept clean. There was just one elevator which did get to be inconvenient when a large group checked in for a weekend event. Pool and beach area is great. We had everything we needed. The biggest drawback for us was the balcony. The balcony was not private so we got to know our neighbors. We will stay there again.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 6 of 36Got the job done
Overall I was satisfied with this hotel stay. I had reserved a non-smoking room with two beds. When I arrived I was told that I could get a non-smoking king room or a smoking room with two beds. I took the two beds and was told I could try to change the next day. I then noticed I had been checked in under the wrong name. The other clerk at the desk processed me correctly and gave me a non-smoking 2 bed room. The room was the farthest from the beach in the hotel, and was on the second floor. The view from the balcony was dominated by the dumpsters rather than the ocean, but this was a function of the specific room, not the hotel in general. The safe (which comes with a mandatory $1 a day charge, outside of the room rate) was missing the door. I was not charged the safe fee, but it was never repaired. We also had broken glass on the balcony when we checked in, but it was cleaned up the next day. The room was spacious, and housekeeping was fantastic. They were friendly and did a thorough job. I think I would have been very happy if I had been in a different room in the same hotel with a better view from the balcony.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 8 of 36Good Price, great location
The hotel is a little aged, but very well maintained and clean. Rooms are small, but access to the beach and pool area is great - though there is not much beachfront and the jet ski rental operation takes up half of it. Very friendly staff including the valet parking service folks.

We arrived to our hotel, expecting the worst given some of the reviews; however, we were pleasantly surprised when arriving in the lobby - it is absolutely gorgeous. However, it stops there. From the moment you step into the old outdated elevator, hand smudges to be seen everywhere, to it slowly creaking up the elevator shaft and opening it's doors into an old musty hallway with worn out carpet . . . what a shame!! Our room was okay . . it was clean and there were no bugs which was very important. The room definitely needed some maintenance done. Our hotel door would not latch so we constantly had to play with it upon leaving so the door would lock. The door to the balcony was almost impossible to open as it was old and the handles/locks needed to be fixed. The toilet was broken at the base and even the plumbing was loose in the walls. It looked like the bathroom had been updated, but it was done poorly. The hotel room ceiling had a bunch of stains on it. The television was older and buzzed very loudly when turned on. The walls are also very thin so we didn't sleep well at all as we could hear everyone. The last night we were there, a loud alarm (a fire alarm??) went off twice in the middle of the night, but no one seemed to be running out of their rooms and no explanation was ever given to us. There were some perks, like free wi-fi and being located on the beach. However, if you stepped off the hotel deck, you had to pay $5 for beach chairs on the beach. One towel per person per day was free. There is also an in-room safe fee we didn't realize until we checked out (regardless if you used it) that was $1 per day plus tax. You also have to pay for valet parking (even if you don't have a valet park your car) that is $9 a day. We tried to cheat the system and find other places to park but all parking lots near the hotel (and everywhere in Ft. Lauderdale) threaten towing. We didn't eat at the hotel as prices were pricey. Overall, I'd say the hotel was good for the loca

it's location and pool area made it worth the money..rooms were average, nothing special. Staff was pleasant enough, but again nothing special. I would recommend this hotel for it's proximity to beach and location.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 12 of 36Okay for the money
The positives: great beach location; nice pool and jacuzzi; relatively low price for the room; convenient access to everything in Ft. Lauderdale; some of the staff were great (front desk, valets, waitress in restaurant); there was a fridge and microwave in the room -- very handy -- as well as coffee maker and the coffee is actually good; there is a partial beach view from the balcony -- better from the south side of the building. The negatives: the iron was dirty and stained my shirt (they replaced the iron and I was able to wash the stain out of the shirt); the lobby looks newly renovated but not the rest of the hotel (which was built in the 60s); on the beach there is a stand that rents lounge chairs ($5) and umbrellas ($10), among other things, which at first looks like it's part of the hotel, but it's not, it's extra. Also, the same company has lounge chairs by the pool on the hotel property which you, even as a guest at the hotel, have to rent ($33). The hotel has many lounge chairs that are free, but not the cushy ones or the "cabanas," even though they are on the hotel property. The lead concierge had a negative attitude and was not helpful (another one was very nice, though); they add mandatory valet parking and in-room safe charges to your bill every day, regardless of whether you want those services or not; the restaurant adds a $3 "room charge" to your bill if you charge it to the room; the air conditioner was dirty and the room was often stuffy even with the AC on; on the first day the maid forgot to leave any clean towels and it took several requests to get both towels and a new iron. Overall: I'd look into other options before staying there again, but much of the staff were very nice and helpful.

The front desk staff wasn't as friendly as the rest of the staff, but over all their service ROCKS -- They force you to use Valet -- They were AWESOME, we never waited for our car! The room service food was GREAT! It was nice to be so close to the beach. The hotel isn't brand new, but over all it was very acceptable and clean. We will stay here again!

Trip Type: With Friends Review 14 of 36Good Service, Poor Hotel
The staff at the hotel, excepting a poor male server, was excellent. Bartenders, concierge, and front desk employees were all very helpful. The condition of the hotel could have been better though. The hallways need much repair/paint, and the room could definitely be updated. The patio door could be replaced too. As a plus side, the elevators were all quick. Also the outside pool area and lobby were pleasant. Overall, if this is the only hotel to fit your budget, then take it. I would probably choose another hotel next time.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 15 of 36Directly oceanfront
We were very satisfied with our choice. Our primary focus was to spend time at the beach. This hotel was on the ocean, and the poolside overlooked the ocean, making it very appealing to us. The ocean view was adequate, nothing exceptional from the room. The ocean view from poolside was outstanding. I would definitely recommend.
