Trip Type: Romance Review 1 of 23Home Away From Home
We checked in late Halloween afternoon and were informed that they had freshly popped popcorn and hot apple cider for their guests. Right away I felt as though they tried to impress their guests. The rooms were a little on the small side, but the hotel was very homey and comfortable. I felt as though I was staying in a mountain lodge...it was great! I woud definitely stay at this location again!

Trip Type: Romance Review 2 of 23Great Beach Retreat
My boyfriend and I stayed in the king size bed suite and really utilized the kitchen. The room was very clean and spacious. Loved the location being right on the ocean and nice area to sit with a grill. End of September made for it not being too crowded but still warm weather. We were even able to go swimming in the ocean one day. Would definitely stay there again.

Trip Type: Romance Review 5 of 23just what we wanted
The hotel isn't anything fancy, but the location is spectacular (just a few steps from the beach) and it was clean, comfortable, and the service was good.

Trip Type: Romance Review 6 of 23Exceeded our expectations
This place overall was an incredible experience. The motel counter staff was friendly and very helpful pointing out places to eat and historical sites nearby that we might enjoy visiting. The housekeeping staff kept the room spotless and fresh. The room was nice with a 32in LCD TV, HBO, little fridge, microwave, and the bed was comfortable. We were only steps away from the beach, wow. The continental breakfast is incredible. Great rich coffee, waffles, juice, danishes, yogurt. One of the best layouts that I've ever seen. In the afternoon they also provided complementary popcorn and cookies in the breakfast area. The little extras... My wife forgot her toothbrush, they had one for her and they had no problem faxing something for me. We were very close to the Wright Brothers Memorial. We went for a visit and ended up spending nearly six hours. If you haven't been there I strongly recommend you stop by. It's well worth your time. Wireless internet was free, however our room was on the outer edge of the motel and reception was very weak. I had to move a night stand in front of the window to get a signal. The hotel wasn't able to provide a cable and I hadn't bothered to pack one. There was a computer in the lobby free for guest's use. We had such a great time here, we plan on coming back this fall. It's a great area to visit and the staff here help to make it that way.

This hotel has a wonderful beachfront location, and is centrally located to Kill Devil Hills. Our room was small, but cozy. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

The hotel was literally on the beach! Our room not only faced the ocean, we had only to walk a few feet to cross the dune and be on the beach! the lobby had the feel of a real souther plantation home! Just beautiful!

We had a great stay. The room was small but excellent. THey upgraded us from a queen to a king voluntarily. Hotel was clean and fresh smelling. The bed and linens were very comfortable. Only the towels were "cheap hotel," but that was minor.

We opted for one of the back rooms. Wish we'd gotten the second floor so that we could've had a better view of the water. We enjoyed the hotel and it exceeded out expectations. Definitely get an upstairs back room Oceanfront if you stay here.

Trip Type: Romance Review 15 of 23On the beaten path
We loved the location, with it's own path to the beach! We had trouble with the outside door lock, but they were right on it and had it fixed in no time. A little noisy past 10pm from kids in the lobby, and the waffle maker in the early am, but we enjoyed the convenience of the hotel's location in relation to the beach and town/stores/restaurants.
