Great Room for the Money

We stayed in the efficiency oceanview the week after labor day and the prices were cut in half. Had a good view of the ocean from our room. If anything needed fixed during our stay maintenance came right away to fix problems got excellent service. Cleaning service trash was removed everyday, clean linen brought to room everyday and beds were made up in a timely fashion. It did not appear the floor had been swept during our stay. To anyone who doesn't like to be around smoke may not like this hotel very much. Smoking is allowed pretty much everywhere outside. Having a spouse allergic to cigarette smoke turned me away from returning to this hotel. Overall I would give this hotel a B- rating.

Nice room for the money

The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The prices in the restaurants were affordable. Great access to the beach and a nice ocean view. There were a few things that could have been improved. The light on the balcony did not work. And the balcony was extremely hot due to the air conditioner vent. The room as a whole met our needs. It was a very pleasant stay. If we return to Myrtle Beach we will probably stay in this hotel again. All in all we had a very comfortable stay at this hotel.

Room and hotel

At first, I was totally upset because I had booked a Ocean Front room and when we got there all I could see was a roof top and the pool. I called and they promptly moved us to a better room with the view of the ocean. The hall way smelled like it had been wet a great deal but the room was clean and the service was good. Will go back but do not want a room above the oceanside bar with the band playing. Each night the band played louder and louder but overall it was good.

Good for the money, nothing more

plain and simple this hotel needs to be remodeled big time. but like most, we didnt spend too much time inside the hotel. we spent most of our time at the beach. it has a great beach location. we also spent a lot of time at the lazy river (wish it was bigger. we had to move our room 2 times during our 6 night stay, one due to load construction early in the morning in the next room over, and the other time because of loud neighbors. the rooms aren't that clean, but ok for the cheap price you pay. the lobby phone lady wasnt nice and helpful, we called twice to get a bellman and she was rude and we never got someone with a cart, so we ended up lugging everything ourself.

Great Hotel

Got this room at a bargain price, and was alright with the fact that it might not be a great hotel/room, but I was thoroughly disproved. Great location, service, and room.

Loved It

Me and my boyfriend stayed here and we had a great time. Loved Ocean Annies and all the live music. Great price. Hope to stay here again.

Needs Serious Improvement

Our stay at the Sands Ocean Club Resport was not one that we will ever repeat. Our room was filthy when we moved into it. THere was hair in the shower, filth under the beds, and an old gumball and garbage behind the night stand. I called when we went out to have it cleaned, and they still did not clean the hair in the tub. My husband did it for me because I was too grossed out. We asked for room service several times and it never came, as well as the silverware that the desk said they'd send up, which never came. The elevators and hallways are extremely warm, which is stifling when riding with an elevator full of people to the 19th floor. Upon checking out, we requseted a bellman/cart, since they won't let people just take a cart on their own, and no one ever came. We ended up taking all of our luggage and coolers out to the car on our own. Overall, for the price we paid, even though it wasn't alot, I feel that we deserved more. We won't be booking there again.

Nice Hotel for the price

Overall the hotel was nice. It was a great price for a beachfront view. We could walk out the back door of the hotel and the beach was right there. When we arrived everyone was friendly. The only problems I would say was the wireless internet. It was terribly slow and half the time we could not even connect. One other thing was the room service, the times they came to clean the room and bring towels was unpredictable, one day it was 11am the next day it was after 3pm. Overall I had a good experience with the hotel and would stay again.

Loved this hotel. We will be back!

We were extremely happy with this resort. Live band each night at outside bar, beautiful view and lots of activities for everyone. Only complaint was we wish we had a directory for TV stations (but who wants to watch TV when you have the beautiful beach and ocean outside on the balcony). We stayed in the efficiency that had a small kitchen with refrigerator, sink, coffee maker, stove, microwave, oven and dishwasher. Much more than we expected. We are already planning to come back next year.

Location NICE but Rooms Need Improvement

I really enjoyed all of the amneties of the hotel. Ocean Annies and the Sandals Lounge were great. However, we were expecting an ocean view room and we did not get it. Also we thought that the room could use a lot of sprucing up. Oh and the comforters had stains all over them...
