Outstanding Hotel

This is just a wonderful hotel. Every detail is thoughtfully covered. The rooms are very clean, beautiful, simple, comfortable & luxurious. The bathrooms are the same. The ONLY fault I could find in our room was that the water pressure could have been a bit higher in the shower, but it was fine as it was - just my personal preference. The grounds & plantings are beautiful. The 40 meter pool is wonderful for lap swimming, or just soaking. The setting of the pool is so beautiful, like a Hollywood setting, really! Eating breakfast at SolBar out on the terrace overlooking the pool is heavenly. Everyone at the hotel is friendly & helpful. I could go on and on about how wonderful this hotel is, but I will run out of room!

Excellent Choice

This hotel was more of a slice of paradise than a hotel. Every aspect of this experience was outstanding. I highly recommend it for anyone visiting wine country who wants their destination to match the beauty of the lush landscape and vineyard experiences.

Solage: Savor. Spa. Sleep.

Solage was an outstanding find tucked away in Calistoga's wine country. For being a mid-size place it felt very intimate and private. The rooms were very well-appointed, contemporary and comfortable. A nice surprise was that each room came with 2 cruiser bikes for exploring the surrounding area of Calistoga. The food was fresh and local and a savory blend of tastes complimented the local wines available. The spa was one of the best I've been to. It was peaceful and serene amid lush landscape and restful cabanas for those not interested in baking in the sun. I would highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to put the ahhhhhhhh back in their day. I can't wait to go back and enjoy the fresh baked cinnamon donuts in the morning.

Beautiful setting and luxurious accommodations

We definitely will return to sample more of the on-site amenities; spent time at the incredible pool but none at the spa facilities because of time spent elsewhere in Napa. Clearly could be a destination resort in and of itself without all the surrounding wine country attractions.

Better service than I've seen in reviews.

The service here was great. They go out of their way to accommodate you and greet you. The restaurant is too pricey though. Great food, but huge portions -- and since your little bar fridge is so stocked up with over-priced items you might not be able to fit your leftovers in them! It would be nice if they had a lower price restaurant around when you just want a bite to eat - not a fancy dinner. Very very close-by is the main street of Calistoga. We just went to the nearby grocery store and collected items to take back to our room for our own "breakfast in bed" -- their breakfast is also very pricey and we didn't want to spend $6 + delivery charge + tax + tip for two eggs. Spa was nice. Loved it there. The pools were awesome.

Beautiful and green- very peaceful and relaxing

We spent a romantic weekend at Solage in January and happened to have perfect weather. Calistoga is a great little town and a short bike ride away from the resort. Great meals at Solbar and in town, fun coffee places in town, Yo el Rey and Calistoga Roastery. The provided bikes were a great touch. The grounds are landscaped simply as are the rooms, which are more little studio units and feel quite private. Each has its own little patio out back with a couple of chairs. It is all very new and well done and made me feel relaxed and compfortable. Many green design and modern features are incorporated. The saltwater pool is amazing and beautiful. I am a swimmer and it was one of the highlights of my weekend. Beautiful fire and water fountain by the restaurant, great place for a drink. We also enjoyed great massages in the spa. We also had a mudslide treatment, which was not a mud bath, but more of a mud bake. Still enjoyable though. No shortage of things to do. Oh and if you have some free time, there is always wine...
