Trip Type: Romance Review 1 of 15Outstanding Location, Rooms need updating
This hotel is in the best possible location to see all of the major tourist sites of Athens, Greece. It is within walking distance to the Acropolis, the new Acropolis museum, the temple of Zeus and Adrian's arch. In addition, it is right on the edge of the "Plaka" area where you will find shopping, cafes, tavernas and some great people watching. You can't find a better location! The people are very friendly and suggested some outsanding restaurants. The only bad part of this hotel is that the rooms need updating very badly. The restrooms were clean, but the carpets and bed spreads were old and worn out. For the price, however, I would still highly recommend it considering the location and friendly staff. We left for the airport really early and they arranged to have the continental breakfast opened 2 hours early for us and arranged a ride to the airport at 4:30 AM.

Trip Type: Romance Review 2 of 155 Star Location
The location near the acropolis was excellent and in easy walking distance to all kinds of out door cafes. It was also right at the start of shopping streets, (Adrianou), that lead right to the Roman Market area near Monastiraki square. It was half a block to the tourist "on"/"off" double decker bus or the little train trolley . and only 1 1/2 blocks to the metro that ties you into the whole of Athens via subway. As you can see it was a 5 star location. The hotel itself was clean but the rooms were small, the tiny tv didn't work (but we were too tired from shopping and sight seeing anyway). The beds were rock hard. The breakfasts were only fair. On the positive side, the staff were very friendly, knowledgeable, and competent. The internet was free and unlimited if you had your own laptop. On the whole, considering the cost it was well worth choosing this hotel. And I would heartily recommend it. Tip: Ask for an extra pillow.

Trip Type: Romance Review 3 of 15Very good service
This hotel was the best one we stayed at throughout our European trip, and it also happened to be the cheapest. The hotel staff was very helpful with finding locations, and explanations about the cultural norms and expectations in Athens. The room was decent, but the TV was really small, but then again we weren't there to watch TV. This hotel also has free WiFi, with no conditions, they just give you the password and that's priceless when you want to find out information about the area and look up history on some of the sites you are about to see. I highly recommend this hotel.

Trip Type: Romance Review 4 of 15Great location BUT no thrills
If you want to be literally within 5 minutes of the Acropolis then stay at this hotel. However, keep in mind that this hotel does not offer great thrills and it has the essentials. Clean and ok but not outstanding.

Trip Type: Romance Review 5 of 15Great room for the money
My husband and I just came back from a three weeks vacation in Europe. It's my first trip to Europe. We stayed in Venice, Florence, Rome, and Athens. We spent two nights at the Airotel Parthenon before flying back to the States. Good location, and a safe neighborhood. It's only a few blocks away from The Acropolis. The only complaint about this hotel, is that the mattress is uncomfortable. It's very hard. This hotel in general, is very simple and plain. However, the service is excellent and the facility is clean. It comes with full American breakfast, scambled eggs, bacon, cereal, fruit, toast etc. We're glad to have stayed at this hotel, but next time we will stay at a different hotel that has a more comfortable mattress.

Trip Type: Romance Review 6 of 15Great Location
The location of the Airotel Parthenon is ideal for tourism: easy to access from the airport (X95 bus to Syntagma Square, then subway to Acropolis), and just 5 minutes' walk from the Acropolis. As for the hotel itself: the room was fine, the wireless internet was free, the (included) buffet breakfast was plentiful, and the staff was very helpful.

Trip Type: Romance Review 8 of 15Great Hotel
The hotel was in a great location. Near all the major sites. The Temple of Zeus, Hadrian's Arch, Acropolis all with in shouting distance. Hotel is tucked away in an alley, with shops and resturants right out on the main road. Hotel is about 1/3 mile from hotel. We did not have but 1 and 1/2 days in Athens. So can not get into much more detail. We were however treated well and for the short time we had in Athens, we were in the right hotel for what we wanted to see. Great Hotel.

Trip Type: Romance Review 9 of 15Fantastic location but rooms a bit worn
My wife and I stayed in this hotel for one night coming off of a cruise and enjoyed it. The rooms are a bit threadbare but they are clean. Beds were also not the most comfortable but I cannot imagine a better location. It is on a very quiet street just off the Plaka and around the corner from the Acroplis Metro station. The staff was very helpful, spoke great English and could not do enough to ensure we enjoyed our stay. The lobby is very impressive so you expect that of the rooms but that is not the case. There was a hot breakfast with lots of choices. For the money this is a great deal.

Trip Type: Romance Review 10 of 15Great service and location
This hotel has outstanding, exceptional service and a premiere location. The price was also 'cheap' as hotels in the area go. The hotel has a beautiful lobby, but that quality doesn't quite make it to the room. The rooms are spacious by european standards, and the hotel tries to do well with what it has, but the beds, carpets, linens, are a bit run down, the water runs from icecold to burning hot, and the beds are like rocks. Although it is a bit uncomfortable, all things considered we'd stay again based on rates, location, hotel staff, and a clear attempt to make the best of the materials they have to work with.

It is nice hotel, nothing fancy, however it's location can not be bit. It is right underneath the Acropolis and right outside the Plaka.

Trip Type: Romance Review 13 of 15Great hotel in a great location...
The hotel is in an excellent area. Very clean, very secure, as is almost all of the city. This hotel is much more like the hotels here in the US than many of the others I have seen in Europe. The rooms are spacious and modern. The bathrooms were large and very well maintained and designed. The American breakfast buffet was great too.
