Trip Type: Not Provided Review 1 of 8Great room for the money
It is an excellent hotel, very clean, the room was a little small but in Europe most hotel rooms are small, a plus is that this hotel includes breaksfast with your dayly stay and it is offered in a very nice ample room.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 2 of 8Great Location
Just like all Paris hotel rooms this one was small too, although clean and in a great walk-able location. My only objection was from what I'm assuming was the female manager who noted to a clerk that we had booked through a third party (hotels.com) and made sure we weren't going to get any additional services such as breakfast or a room with a view.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 3 of 8Very good value for money
Very charming upscale hotel. Renovated rooms in a distinctive French style. The hotel has 130 rooms, but it feels very cosy and friendly. A nice alternative to a bigger chain hotel (although it used to be a boutique Sofitel). We had a room on the 7th floor which is very nice as you get bright light in the summer.

my room was pretty not pokey..i found the concierge and front desk staff to be very friendly and helpful.. the location, mid-way between metro stops and not far from great shopping and eating was a plus. I was glad there was an in-room safe, since a few years ago, my wallet and passport were stolen from my room in a supposedly "very good" Paris hotel. The mini-bar had enough space in it so that I was able to stash a few things i had bought to eat in my room. i travel a lot in my work and stay in much more expensive hotels with excellent services for business travelers. You get spoiled, so when it's your own money, and you can't or won't pay for that level of accommodation, the astor, I think, is a good choice. You get professionalism and attractive surroundings for what in Paris is a reasonable price. My only quibble..they were pretty stingy with the amenities, only one soap for my whole stay, when one for the sink and a different one for the bath would have been nice. there was a nice little box with cotton pads, q-tips, etc. in it. I ran out of cotton pads. they were not replenished.

Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 6 of 8Broken Promises-Broken Down
The promised air conditioning was unable to keep our room comfortable on a day when it was only 72 degrees outside. The carpet in the room was worn, and there were loose tiles on the bathroom floor that one could easily cut themselves on. The request for a non smoking room was treated by the hotel as nothing more than a simple request and not intended to be honored. Service and staff were pleasant, and the concierge was quite capable.

Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 7 of 8Another wonderful stay!
Our second stay at the Hotel Astor. The young lady behind the desk remembered us from last year! Very comfortable clean room with a lovely bath. Great location for our purpose. We will come back again.

This reasonably priced (for Paris)hotel stood out for its service at the front desk, the concierge desk and at the door. The room (314)itself was beautiful, with upholstered walls, attractive decor and a nice courtyard view. However, the room was tiny - I don't think the room would have been comfortable for a couple - in spite of a queen sized bed. In several locations, there was less than 24" of clearance between pieces of furniture and/or walls. With respect to location, the hotel is close to the Metro at St. Augustin, but a little isolated when walking at night, especially from areas near Invalides/Eiffel Tower.
