Good Room for the Money

Great location. Service was adequate, but some room for improvement. The cleanliness of the room was superb, but hallways and elevators needed work in painting and cleaning. We greatly enjoyed our stay and were overall delighted to be in the facility. Parking and amenities were fine, standard continental breakfast. Would stay again.

Annoying Fire Alarm

We stayed three nights. The first night, the fire alarm went off three times, causing evacuation... yet no fire... and no form of compensation like reducing our rate or anything. Other than that, the parking was fine, the location was great, and the staff was friendly.

Good times for cheap rates!

I just went on a mini vacation with my girlfriend and I must say that for the rates we were given for our room we had a wonderful time! The view was amazing and hearing the ocean from your room was awesome! This was not our 1st time in VA beach but it was the best time! The hotel is a bit of an eye soar from first glance but the rooms were in very nice shape! The elevator take forever so we used the stairs alot but other than that it was nice. The breakfast was "OKAY" cereal, bagels, muffins, and coffee...but hey it was free...Good times for cheap rates!

Decent hotel, but look for others

The room that we stayed in was nice and did have a nice view of the ocean, all though it probably would not satisfy anyone looking for an upscale experience. The staff were not really friendly, and most of our calls to the front desk went unanswered. Most of the maids did an average job of cleaning the rooms, leaving things behind or not fully cleaning the room. The hot tub within the pool is broken, as well as some renovations (such as painting) were taking place during our stay.

Great View, Nice Employees, Very Old, Needs Major Overhaul

Rooms are very old and could be much cleaner. They could really use a major overhaul. Even so, the ocean view is spectacular and location is very good. The front desk employees were very helpful and kind. If you want a basic hotel with all oceanfront rooms at a somewhat decent price, then this is the place for you. Since, we were really never in the room except to sleep and wake up, it really didn't matter that much that it was run down.

Great Value

The hotel was close to all we wanted to see and was a great value. The room was clean. The housekeeping staff was great. The room was cleaned early in the day. The balcony was small, but perfect for the two of us. Beautiful view of the ocean! The front desk staff was pleasant. This was the perfect place for us to take our weekend getaway.

Okay hotel..great view!

We stayed one night at the surfside hotel and other than the view which was great there is nothing dazzling about this hotel. I read such great reviews online when I booked it. The hotel needs some upgrading, the hall outside our room looked like it was a flashback to the 70's! Walls and carpet looked old. The bed was ok comfort, I would say anyone on a tight budget this place would be suitable but I would spend a little extra cash next time i'm in VA beach for a little more comfort.

Average Hotel

The room was clean, the bathroom updated. The pool was disgusting (rust everywhere, mold on ceiling)so I did not swim in it.

It suited our need.

My husband and I just wanted a room for the night with an ocean front view without spending an arm and a leg. The price was great and the room was fine. The attached restaurant "Fishbone" was excellent.

Wonderful Weekend Get-A-Way

My husband & myself celebrated our anniversay at this hotel. The hotel & staff were wonderful. Our room overlooked the ocean & was very clean & comfortable. We plan on going back soon & taking our children with us. They have 2 room suites that we are going to look into.
