Trip Type: With Friends Review 1 of 15Great Condo
This was a great place to stay. There was breath taking beautiful views of the ocean and the city. Probably the cheapest valet parking in Miami at $20 per day. A comfortable place to do lenghty or short stays, with a washer and dryer and a nice kitchen. Short walk to downtown Miami. The neighborhood is great for scenery and jogging.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 2 of 15Wonderfull Stay
The Fortune House is a wonderfull hotel to book your stay. All the staff I came across were friendly and the room I booked was big and had a wonderfull view. The gym is up to date, the pool was clean. I stayed over the weekend and enjoyed every bit of it. They even said I can do a late check out, as long as I do it before 2:30, which was very good.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 3 of 15Great room for the money
We stayed in one of the remodeled Bay View 2 BR suites and it was very nice. However, we were first put in a non-remodeled room. The difference is huge. Once we got our room changed, everything else was great. The location was very good. We used the free downtown train (metromover) a ton, and the station is one block away. The front desk was very helpful. We used the pool and the gym, both were nice. We even ordered room service. This place is not a hotel, but for the price the value was outstanding.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 4 of 15Nice Room but staff and maintenance lacking
The room was a nice room however our toilet became clogged and overflowed. They said that they couldn't get anyone in until 8:o0 am and couldn't get us another room to stay in so we had to use the lobby bathroom. Then when the morning came we couldnt get anyone to fix the toilet until 10:00am. They kept saying someone was on the way but it took 2 hours from the time maintenance came in. In addition, we almost got stuck on the elevator. If they can get the staff together it would be a very nice place to stay.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 5 of 15Medium Quality Hotel
The unit was "ok"; generally clean, but not great. I did see small bugs in the room. The bed was not very comfortable. Linens showed signs of wear. The bathroom was generally clean, but there were stains on the shower head. You can hear noise from other guest in the hallway late at night. I consider myself very picky; but I think I would give it 2 stars; not 3.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 6 of 15Quirky, but clean and reasonably comfortable
The Fortune House hotel offers good value, but if you're picky about hotel rooms, then you may not be happy. Everything was fine, but just a little bit off from what you woud expect. For example, the keys to the hotel room were actual keys, not key cards. The room number is printed on every key and on the key fob, which seems to be a bit of a security issue. Even if you have several people staying in your suite, you are only provided with one key fob (the fob is needed to get into the hotel and to call the elevator in the lobby). Also, there is a daily charge for parking, which is valet-only. Other oddities in my suite were a complete lack of tissues (which was never rectified, but it was easy enough to buy a box of tissues from CVS). One day, I came back to discover the shower rod had fallen off the wall and the shower curtain and rod were sitting in the bathtub. The good things were that the suite was clean and reasonably comfortable. For my purposes (visiting a friend who lived nearby), the location was very convenient. The breakfast buffet was quite good, though we only had breakfast for two people included with our two-bedroom suite. All in all, if you want a good value and can put up with a few quirks, Fortune House Hotel is a good place to stay.

I was pleasantly impressed and surprised with the hotel. Definitely a winner.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 8 of 15Apartment-like Hotel
This hotel was very different. Our room had a balcony overlooking the city on one side and bay on the other. The room was like an apartment - it had a kitchen, seperate dining area, family room and bedroom. It was very nice staying there without feeling like you living out of a suitcase.

like it says, it's an all suite hotel. full kitchen, living room, bedrooms, just like home. don't bank on the pool to get a tan; surrounded by tall buildings, so the sun barely gets to see the pool at all.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 11 of 15Good Deal for the Money
Suite was very spacious, as were the two bedrooms. Everything was clean. Hotel Staff was attentive enough and I really liked the small little coffee shop/deli downstairs. Furniture in the rooms was a bit old, but I really cannot complain about that considering how affordable this hotel was compared to others in the area.

The Pros: I stayed in a two bedroom suite with a sofa bed in the living room; a washer/dryer, full kitchen, and balcony. The room was clean and the balcony had a nice ocean view. They have an onsite gym with an outdoor pool on the sixth floor, a business center, and a cafe which was reasonably priced (there was a breakfast and lunch buffet, very reasonably priced). This location is great - It is nestled right financial district with a great array of food choices such as Mexican, Asian, Argentinean, and Mediterranean. The FREE train called the "metro mover" takes you all around downtown, quickly and conveniently and transfers to their metro-rail and bus services so you can travel to south beach or even North Miami! It is a quick 10 minute cab ride to South Beach. The CONS: The second bedroom had two bunk beds instead of the two full size beds described in the ad. The couch in the living room was white leather and we did not know it was a sofa bed until a few days into our stay. There were no remote controls in the rooms, the televisions were outdated, and the second bedroom did not have a television. There were a limited supply of towels and washcloths. The utensil, pots and pans in the Kitchen were worn out, and there was no detergent for the dishwasher. I would recommend this room, because it is a great find for a big group for the money. Plus, it's MIAMI, so how much time do you REALLY spend in your room watching TV and cooking!!!

i was expecting a small room but instead we got a 2 bedroom/2bath condo. it had a full kitchen, living area, and balcony. very impressed. not sure if that is the norm or if they just upgraded us for another reason? anyways it was great.

Had reserved a one-bedroom and was given a two-bedroom for the same price. Very clean. Great location if you hve to be downtown in the Financial District or to see a concert. On the other hand, parking was by valet, a charge for each time they retrieved your car or a flat rate. We chose valet thinking we would only get our car twice; however after returning late in the evening, the valet was full and which would require the flat rate fee. Fortunely, they gave it to us for free, but it's good to know. I'd stay again in a heartbeat!
