Trip Type: Business Review 2 of 32Big room for the money
Despite the strange name, the hotel was very nice. The room was huge! Much bigger than expected. It was more like an apartment. Pool and gym were awesome. Only downside was the internet was only on the first floor and no free breakfast.

Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 32Location.........that's about it.
If you need to be in downtown Miami, this is a good spot for the money. After that it's all down hill. Missing smoke detector, no lock on outside door, bizarre room layout- you had to sit sideways on the second hand store couch to watch the only TV. and no coffee pot at all, let alone coffee and filters.

Trip Type: Business Review 4 of 32Good for 5 people & Good value for the location
Good size two bedroom suite with kitchen amenities. Plan to pay for parking as it is costly downtown. Walking distance to commuter line that operates 6AM-1AM daily.

Trip Type: Business Review 6 of 32Great Location, Rooms are Dated
I stayed at the Fortune House for one evening while on a business trip. The hotel offers an excellent location off Brickell Ave, a lovely exterior, and was a great value overall. My room was spacious and clean but the interior was rather dated. There was a small patio that looked down on the pool and a parking garage, and you could just see the ocean off to the south between two buildings. The staff at the Fortune House was friendly, although they were extremely slow at check in/check out. I did not have the occasion to order room service or call the front desk for anything. Overall the Fortune House offers a convenient location for businesspeople and very competitive pricing, although the rooms are dated. I would likely stay there again due to the low price.

Trip Type: Business Review 7 of 32Nickle & Dime; Bait & Switch: Poor Personel
Be prepared because you might get surprised with $60, $80 or more in mandatory parking fees depending on how long you stay. In my opinion, the management and customer service personel are very cold, uncaring and rude. The bathroom had something dark that I thought was mold or fungus in the corners of the shower area. I felt dirty and unfomfortable showering there. The bed was loud and creeked terribly each time I changed my sleeping position. The front desk lady could not have been colder or more rude in my opinion. Many places advertise that check in time is 3:00pm or even later but even those places let you slide and you can often check in around 1:00 or 2:00pm, not this place. I was definately not allowed to check in early.

Trip Type: Business Review 8 of 32First Time in a Condo & Won't be the Last
This was the first time I ever booked my employees into a condo. Nrmally we stay in traditional hotels. The rooms were clean and spacious. The breakfast was not gourmet but was fine, eggs, cereal & fruit. My staff said dinner was a disappointment but there were plenty of restaurants in the area within walking distance.

Trip Type: Business Review 12 of 32Outstanding Hotel!!! Exceptional! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Simply put it was incredible & beautiful! Staff was Very accomdating & courteous. Only downfall (for coffee lovers) was o coffee maker in room, but lobby deli has a little snack, coffee shop so it was OK! Parking fee was exceedingly high, but for Brickell Ave area, its to be expected.

Trip Type: Business Review 13 of 32Great place for the price.
The hotels around the Fortune House may be nicer, but you can't beat the price. It isn't easy to find because the street just to the north is 14th Street but you have to go one more block south to 14th Terrace, then go east a half a block. I will go to the Fortune House every time I go to downtown Miami!

Trip Type: Business Review 15 of 32Nice......but
The hotel isn't very easy to find, particularly at night. Its in-between a jungle of high-rise condos with no obvious signs. I circled the block 3 times before accidentally stumbling on it (while at the front desk I heard the desk clerk on the phone trying to give directions to other lost tourists. The room itself was great for the money - almost ridiculously large - obviously a converted apartment or condo. Full kitchen but no coffee maker (?). Valet parking is the only real option but was reasonable for Miami (only $5). Good for the money....if you can find it.
