Trip Type: Family Review 1 of 18Beautiful hotel, a tad dated, but very nice...
If you enjoy a pool area, this is the best in the area by far. Rooms a tad dated but not bad. Great views.

Trip Type: Family Review 6 of 18Where's the beach?
The hotel was beautiful and the Hyatt breakfast was outstanding, as always. We stayed 7 nights so we had a chance to really explore the site. That being said, I did have one disappointment: the beach. I admit that I was warned that the beach in front of the hotel was not that great. What that means is that the first two times we visited the beach, there was about 10 feet of sand between the vegetation and the surf. So one person could lay down and someone walking along the beach would have to carefully walk around. For people without kids, this was probably fine. By walking along a paved walkway between hotels, for just 15 minutes, you could arrive at a much larger beach. If you walked ten minutes more, you were at an outstanding beach where people were snorkeling. We had a kid in a stroller, though, so the 15 minute walk was a chore. The Hyatt tried to make up for this with the most amazing kids pool and slide area that I have ever seen, but my child was a little to young to really appreciate it. Knowing what I now know, I would have paid more to stay closer to a usable beach.

Trip Type: Family Review 7 of 18Great Experience
My whole family stayed at the Hyatt for my parent's anniversary. We all had a fantastic time. The hotel is well maintained and appeals to people of all ages. My niece and nephew loved the exotic birds and the poosl and water slides. The staff was very accommodating with our rooms and with any special requests. One of the restaurant workers even went to the kitchen to get me a little jar of jelly so that I could make a sandwich. They definitely go above and beyond to make their guests feel at home. We all can't wait to go again.

Best hotel and pools on Kaanapoli Resort area.

Trip Type: Family Review 9 of 18Outstanding hotel, but lots of walking required.
We had a wonderful stay at the Hyatt. The hotel is beautiful, service is great, and the food is excellent. The beach is not the prettiest stretch on Kaanapali, but it is nice, and it is convenient that snorkling, boogie boards, parasailing, and jet skis are available right there. A word of caution to those who have trouble walking: the hotel is very spread out (long walks from room towers to restaurants, etc.), and there are lots of stairs. No assistance with transportation (e.g., golf carts) is provided.

Trip Type: Family Review 10 of 18Kids Pool
I have two quick notes about this hotel. We had a lovely experience while in Maui. The Hyatt was clean, and easy to navigate. We decided to stay at the Hyatt because of the kid friendly pool. The pool was ideal for our 3 year old. However, the spray spouts are on full blast around the turtles and fountains. I would prefer them to be a little less forceful. My other notible coment, the beds are soooo very comfortable. I truely enjoyed our room stay. It was modern and comfortable.

Trip Type: Family Review 13 of 18Surprises
Upon checking in with my spouse and 2 17 year olds, we found that we were booked into a room with one bed. We were moved to a room I consider to be way too small for 4 with 2 double beds. We were also surprised by the daily resort fee which didn't come to our attention until we were checking in.

Trip Type: Family Review 14 of 18Beach very rocky in front of hotel.
The hotel beach is very rocky just as you enter the water. Almost impossible to walk into. The actual sand beach is very small. Its only about 20-25ft in length from the water. So, no one is on the beach in front of the hotel. Everyone uses the hotel pools. However, the hotel pool grounds and amentities are excellent. This somewhat makes up for the non-existent beach activity. The best snorkeling and beach swimming is not far away. You can walk about 15-30 minutes along the beach walk way and arrive at some nice beaches were you can actually get in the water to swim and snorkel. If you want to spend your time on the beach in front of your actual hotel swimming, snorkeling, and sunbathing. This hotel is not for you.

Trip Type: Family Review 15 of 18Best Vacation Ever
As we arrived to the hotel it is obvious that it's location and beauty are one of a kind. We were greeted with sea shells, and were helped with our bags right away. We got an amazing upgrade and a wonderful ocean front room wit ha breath taking view. The beds were amazing and the staff was very attentive to every need. Breakfast at the swan court was amazing as well as the luau. Best part was the night club at Spat. There is a club at the actual hotel on Saturday nights. A lot of hotel guests and locals. It was a lot of fun and it was a great place to celebrate my sister's birthday. The pool and water slide were amazing and if you do go to this hotel do not miss out on having drinks at the Grado Bar!
