Trip Type: With Friends Review 1 of 14Very decent hotel, good value
The hotel was excellent, the only problem was that the windows don't open (a gallery from which the rooms are accessed runs along both sides of the building) so to let the nice ocean breeze in you have to keep the door wide open. Also, the wireless internet connection worked only intermittently, possibly because our room was at the far end of the hotel, away from the office. But that's only a problem if you really need internet access on the Outer Banks.

I wanted a hotel on the beach, with a pool, that was clean and non-scary. So in those ways, this hotel was exactly what I wanted. Cons: The room was pretty tiny-we could barely get past the bed to the bathroom. The outdoor space left a little to be desired and wasn't exactly the most peaceful place to stay. The internet was not working correctly for our entire stay, so that was annoying. Pros: Free breakfast. Awesome beach access. Good location. Nice/clean pool. Lifeguarded beach. Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Family friendly location.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 3 of 14Great room for beach vacation
Altho we didn't have an oceanfront room we could sit on the balcony/walkway and face the water. It was lovely and the time of year (early June) made it a little less crowded. Hotel staff were helpful and friendly. The little kitchenette was a nice surprise and would have been great for a longer stay. We were only there one night.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 4 of 14Decent hotel in great location
Great location, nice sized rooms and wonderful view of the ocean - shame the windows don't open so you have to rely on air conditioning all the time.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 5 of 14Decent for the Money
Although the service at the front desk wasn't the friendliest, the room was an excellent size and view for the price. The hotel doesn't look fabulous from the outside, but the rooms are large with a decent view and plenty of amenities.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 6 of 14a bargain with good service
I found the staff to be very friendly, off season rates were phenominal for a suite with a decent ocean view. It is an older hotel, and it has taken some wear and tear but overall it is still a very nice place to visit.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 7 of 14Very Surprised
After staying in other locations in the area, this room far exceeded my expectations for the manoey paid! Bed was very comfortable and didn't have to ask for extra pillows. Front desk staff were very accomodating and pleasant to deal with

Satisfactory room. Somewhat cramped getting into the bathroom. Maybe overpriced a little bit. Good location and a very good desk staff.

We arrived a few minutes before check in time. We went to the front desk and they said our room was ready so we went up to where out room was. When we booked out room it was supposed to be ocean side and it ended up being street side. When walking up to the room I was in front of my boyfriend and noticed the door to our room was open. Once I got closer and could look into the window I realized the cleaning lady way asleep laying across our bed. Once we got to the door she realized we were there and got up saying she was sorry that she had a headache and needed to take a short nap. my boyfriend proceeded to tell her that we were under the impression that our room was ready and that if it wasn't we would come back. She keep saying it was ready. My boyfriend did not realize what I had told him and once he did he went straight down to the front desk to question why it was not ocean side and then told them about the cleaning lady. They did however give us keys to a new room that was ocean side. Once in our new room I looked at the pillows on the bed and 2 of the 5 pillows had blood on them. That freaked me out just as badly as the cleaning lady on the bed. We removed the pillows from the bed and proceeded with the rest of the day. The next morning I went to blow dry my hair and the blow dryer looked like it had not been cleaned in months. There was stuff all over it. The water in the shower was also poor. It had good pressure but it went from being extremely hot one minute to freezing cold the next. Over all it was a horrible experience. The front desk did take our concerns into consideration but the hotel itself was awful. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
