Great room for the money

Great room for the money. The staff is very cordial and service was great. Free breakfast is nice.

Paying for Location

High price is for location only ... anywhere else, the room would go for $50

Good value for the money on a holiday

Overall a good value and would recommend it to others. The location was great, the staff attitude and helpfulness were very good. The only complaint is the typical beach hotel musty smell but after a day it was not noticeable..

Good beach access

This hotel has good beach access and a nice large pool. Hotel has a lot of wear, but it seemed to have a lot of sprucing up being done (they were painting while we were there.) The staff could not keep the breakfast bar stocked with the number of people there.

The Room Smelled Musty

I'm sure that with it's location right next to the beach, a damp musty smell is inevitable. Other than that our stay was very nice. The room was clean and the kitchenette was very handy with two small children who want to eat all the time. This motel has a great location!

Clean,neat, big room - no elevator, which is okay, but surprising. Obviously an older buidling, but kept up. Continental breakfast was carb-heavy (waffle machine, bread, sweet rolls), but there was a coffee machine. Cleaning staff were friendly and did a nice job. Overall, if you just want a base of operations for the area or the beach, for the price, it's great.

Disappointing

Hi, Despite many trips to the Outer Banks of NC, this was by far the most un-enjoyable. Reasons: ** Biggest: We reserved 2 rooms online thru hotels. com. The week prior to our arrival, the rates went down. The decrease in the rates would've saved our family approximately $100.! When I asked if there was anyway to receive a discount, we were told "Sorry, that's what happens when you go through third parties, like hotels.com." While I can appreciate there "rules", I also believe that due to the economy & rising gas prices, hotels that are lucky enough to have people still visit should make every accommodation to make family travel less expensive, and more enjoyable.** 1. Despite having a handicapped person with us w/ limited mobility, our rooms were a substantial walking distance from our vehicle. 2. No chairs on balcony/porch to sit outside. 3. BOTH nights we were there, we were bitten multiple times while TRYING to sleep. 4. No ice machine on our floor, had to go to hotel lobby for them to give us ice. No vending machines either. 5. Bathrooms are teeny-tiny small. If it weren't for trying to "make the most out of it", especially b/c my children had just finished school for the year ... we may have left early.

good stay but...

There's nothing hi speed about the hi speed wireless...it's practically useless...I've used dial up that was faster. The room was good over all, the walls are thin and it's easy to hear people in the next room. The service is good at the front desk and the hotel is in a good location.

nice room

we stayed at the viriginia dare room.it was secluded,nice room over the lobby.we're making it our room to stay in while we're in kill devils hills.no bill surprisees was also nice. thanks.....the Prices.
