Trip Type: Romance Review 2 of 61Lovely Weekend
I took my Girl Friend to Hotel Maya and the only big problem was getting there. Very difficult directions be careful. Other than that Early Check in, went to the aquarium (free shuttle every 8 min.) walked back over the bridge and we got the deluxe king room and it was beautiful she was so impressed. The balcony and view was spectacular!!! Night time was very romantic and the both of us were sore for days. Limited to the Mexican food. I thought it was expensive but I guess we are in California right.

Trip Type: Romance Review 5 of 61Beautiful View
Staying at the Hotel Maya made my anniversary a memorable one! We paid for the garden view (though it is not really a garden) but they gave us the bay view which was spectacular. The rate I got was extremely low in comparison to the regular rate so that was wonderful too! There is a bus terminal in the parking lot which was so convenient since parking in Long Beach is not convenient and we took the free city shuttle everywhere we went. The pool was spectacular and has beautiful cabanas and a bay view (including a view of The Queen Mary). There is a snack tray and mini bar in the room if desired. The size of the room was very nice and the very large, flat screen, digital t.v. was nice too. Things to know: There is a charge for parking your car in the hotel parking lot and a charge to use the internet on the hotel lobby's computer. We wanted to extend our stay for an extra day but they would not give us the same rate so we went elsewhere for our additional night.

Trip Type: Romance Review 6 of 61"Great Remodeling" Disappointed with the pool!
I had a really nice time at this hotel. The remodeling looks great… but the hotel was tricky to find even with Map Quest direction. They do charge $15.00 per day for self-parking, even though the hotel has lots of empty parking. The pool area is very nice, but the pool is small only 4 1/2 ft, very narrow and there was absolutely no heat in the pool along with the Jacuzzi. At 5:00 p.m. I had to get out of the pool because it was cold and the Jacuzzi had no heat. It was 84 degrees that day. The front desk claims the hotel has not been able to get a permit from the city for heating the pool/Jacuzzi. I would not consider this a child friendly hotel. Other then the problems with the pool and the parking, I had a very nice time in my room. Room service was good.

Trip Type: Romance Review 7 of 61Nice,but needs an improvement.
The hotel room was large and it had a balcony overlooking the bay and that was really lovely. It is a boutique hotel and it has a typical snobbishness in the air, which I didn't enjoy. The parking fee is $14 a day, which seemed absurd. The hotel staff was not particularly friendly. On the 3rd night we decided to extended 3 more nights and we went to the front desk, and the staff said "No problem, you just keep the same room and you are all set." However, on the 4th night the room key did not work as they promised, and we had to go back to the front desk and talk to the staff, explaining once again that we were extending our stay. They looked not too happy seeing us there at the front desk and they were not to keen on passing us the room key. We,honestly, did not enjoy the hotel staff, however the room was great and the view was lovely, we might go back to this hotel in the future.

Trip Type: Romance Review 11 of 61Hotel Maya....
My whole stay at this hotel was great. I was a little skeptic from reading prior reviews about the thin walls & construction noise but I decided to stay here anyway. It was very nice and peaceful. The only construction going on was on the outside walkway but you can still walk through it: was nothing major. The view was excellent, room service was great, I really have nothing negative to say about this hotel. I was completely satisfied!

Trip Type: Romance Review 12 of 61Good Value & Location
The King deluxe room had a great view of the harbour and queen mary, the room was very spacious with all the modern conveniences [minus the refrigerator.]? Internet included is always a plus but then the $10 per night parking is a minus. Previous reviews mentioned the noisy air conditioners still the same you can not sit on the balcony with the air con running extremely noisy plus pretty loud in the room. [I always take ear plugs]. Free bus to downtown and water taxis very convenient. I would pay the extra for a room with the view other wise you are looking onto the car park. The pathway around the harbor is the only construction left to be done, pool is complete with very nice views and cabanas.

Trip Type: Romance Review 14 of 61Loved Our Room
I have stayed at the Maya Before and this time I really loved it. The staff memmbers "Especially Steve" at the registration Desk Should be commend for outstading work. As soon as we settled down in our rooms Steve gaves us a call to make sure everything was in order and if we needed anything to give hime a call. My wife and I celebrating our anniversary could not have ask for more. We had the betiful view of the Queen mary and the night light of Long Beach Shoreline.I Recommend this hotel ver much for couples. The drive in is tricky but once you get there you should not have any problem the next time in.
