Needs improvement

The hotel is in a good neighborhood but it needs improvement. The lobby and hallways are very run down. The rooms are somewhat better and they were clean. I would stay there again but would try to find something a little nicer before I made reservations. Also, there are way too many parties there. Do not get a room facing the pool or you will have to hear the parties.

Great, but parking fee?

This is a very friendly hotel. The room was clean and the service was good. It was built in the 60's and it would be great if it was refurbished to the period. Looks like it was redone in the 80's. There was plenty of space in the parking lot, so why was I charged $10/night to park in it? I was a hotel guest! I think the parking fee should have been included in the room rate. It seems like a tacky add-on, and takes the hotel down a peg. However; it was a good place to stay and the staff was responsive and professional.

Great Room for the Money

The hotel was a good choice for the money. The only exception was that we had to call several times for room service (i.e. need more towels: called three times). I expect they were busy as there were 3 weddings the week we stayed. The pool was very nice, however, I learned from a person that was there that they let anyone in even if they are not staying there to use the pool area. This makes it difficult to get a chair beside the pool on the weekend. Everyone including the guests were very friendly. The staff were very accommodating with the exception of having to call several times for items needed in the room. I would definitely stay again if I ever get back that way.

Outstanding Hotel

This hotel was a surprise gem. The room was extremely spacious and clean. The staff was helpful and our needs and requests were met quickly. Great pool area. Be aware that weekend nights live music is featured so don't plan on turning in early. I found this to be an added bonus. The hotel offered free a shuttle to Universal Studios. Definitely will return again.

It was great!!

Whenever I am in the area, this is where I stay. The area is great--right on Ventura Blvd.--lots of shopping, food, and fun. The staff couldn't be more considerate and anxious to please. And the pool is great. Big and even has a place big enough to lap swimming. There is music on Friday nights.

Very Impressed

I was extremely satisfied with the experience. We had great service , they met every need, and I would stay there again in a heartbeat. Changing rooms was no problem, the front desk knew us by name and got everything we needed, and the pool and evening entertainment just added to the great time. I agree the decor is a bit behind the times, but all the great service and clean room out-weighted it by far. I will be staying there the next time I visit.

Outstanding Hotel

It was a great stay. The rooms were very spacious. We stayed in a two double room. The beds were very comfortable. I think they were relatively new. It was very clean and well taken care of hotel. A beautiful pool.

Great potential

Rooms updated nicely but the hotel common areas (halls, exterior, etc.) need the same level of updating. Great spot with great potential but needs more work.

great service...cute hotel!

The service from the staff was amaizing... I arrived there way to early tp check in, but was tired from driving all night. That staff was great and had my room prepaired quick and checked me in 3 hours early. They were also great giving me directions to where ever I needed to go. Every one was VERY nice and VERY helpfull. Huge heated pool, a cocktail lounge, great service, and nice area. I will be back there next month when I come down again! A great hotel for a low cost!
