Great room for the money

Overall the hotel was nice. 3rd street was pretty noisy so if you ended up getting a room on that side of the hotel I think it would not be a pleasant stay (since there is not air conditioning we needed our windows open). Staff was friendly and the hotel was clean. They allow pets and we just happened to be there one night when the inter courtyard because loud at night because there were dogs barking. Location was great...very easy to walk to the different Seattle sights and nice that it wasn't in the middle of city congestion. FYI-there were some seedy people around that part of town but it didn't feel dangerous.

OK for the money

It was a hot week in August, and the room did not have any air conditioning. At least there were fans, but the room never really cooled down. It was a nice area of town, easy to walk to Space Needle, restaurants, Pike Place Market, Aquarium, boat tours, etc. The room was clean -- small -- but fairly nice otherwise.

Hot Hotel

The Belltown Inn is a fine hotel in an interesting neighborhood, but they don't have air conditioning and we were there at a time of record high temperatures. Wow. The room was an oven, even with the ceiling fan and a second table fan. The neighborhood was too noisy to leave the window open all night. I recommend this hotel during times when the high temps don't exceed 85 or so.

Great Location

The hotel is in a great location;5 blocks to the waterfront which has several nice resturants, 2 blocks from 1st avenue which has trific resturants and night life, great free bus transportation to the downtown area. The only downside is the lack of air conditioning which normally not needed because of the cool climate; however, we stayed there in the later part of July and we had to open our window on the street side to cool the room. This resulted in a nosy condition. Otherwise everything was very nice.

Ok for discount rate

Friendly and helpful staff. When we found that the bathroom had a strong cigarette smell (entire hotel is smoke-free), the staff immediately moved us to another room. Both rooms were large and comfortable. Microwave was a plus. Only one small elevator servicing 5 floors.
