Trip Type: Special Event Review 2 of 19Great hotel - ask for a high floor and a view
Stayed there in July 2009 and thought it was a great hotel: located in Plaka so very close to all the sites, rooftop pool with a Parthenon view is a nice touch. If you can, ask for a room on a high floor - you will get a view of either Parthenon or the Lykabettus hill.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 6 of 19LUXURY IN THE MIDST OF REALITY
MOST OF THE TIME WHEN STAYING IN A 5 STAR HOTEL, I'M SURROUNDED BY HIGH END SHOPS AND RESTAURANTS. IN THIS PARTICULAR OCCASION, I ENDED UP BEING PART OF AN ANCIENT NEIGHBORHOOD, WHICH ONLY ADDED TO THE EXCITEMENT OF THE TRIP. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Very close (within walking distance) to the Plaka District, the main shopping area in downtown Athens.

we could not have been more pleased with the Electra Palace. from the moment we walked in the door, the quality of service, front desk care, lovely breakfast, comfortable room and the perfect location. one of the best dinners we had in greece was at a small traverna at the end of the street from the EP, you never would have guessed, but it was great. when we return to Athens we will stay at the EP again. it could not have been better. the view of the Acropolis at night from the roof top is beyond words!

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 10 of 19Wonderful hotel & staff
The Electra Palace Hotel was a perfect refuge from the heat in Athens! The pool was beautifully maintained & has an awesome view of the Acropolis. The hotel staff were always very courteous & helpful & were especially helpful in negotiating cab fares. The beds were particularly firm but that's the only concern we had.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 11 of 19Very nice location
Walking distance to most tourist sites. We stayed a couple nights. We had a very nice room with a Parthenon view. The room was not extremely large or anything but very adequate, clean and comfortable for a short stay. The hotel is an easy walk to restaurants. However, they do serve a fairly nice breakfast right there at the hotel. It is in a quiet location somewhat off the beaten path. We found the staff to be most helpful in arranging a taxi for our 5:30 a.m. flight.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 12 of 19Very Good
Hotel was clean and the staff was very accommodating. Definitely make sure you get a 4th floor room with a balcony and view of the Acropolis! Bed matresses were teh only downside. Need better matresses. Very close to lots of little shops and restaurant, and a Starbucks! We walked to everything. Perfect location for eating and sightseeing. As two girls traveling alone, we felt very safe in this area. Lots of areas in Athens are like being in NYC. This area, Platka, was totally different. Definitely recommend the hotel. Note-we at no meals at the hotel-breakfast buffet was expensive at $30. Room service was reasonable.
