Trip Type: With Friends Review 1 of 4Cute Hotel, right on the subway line...great price.
We visted Tokyo for the first time last week and I am so glad we took a chance on this hotel. We are seasoned subway travellers, as it is our preferred method of transport, even in a new city. It's true that the HANZOMON line is not a direct ride to most points of interest (which may be frustrating for people who don't generally travel by subway) but changing lines was really pretty easy. I reccommend HIGHLY purchasing a SUICA card or equivalent subway travel card as it was invaluable when navigating lines. Negatives: There were a few communication problems, as no one at the hotel really seemed to speak English during our 3 nights there, and we couldnt find a COKE machine.....The bed was pretty firm..... Compliments: The hotel felt very safe. It was in a quieter part of the city. There was an AM/PM convenience store a few doors down. It's across the street from the subway station. it was AMAZINGLY clean and temperate. They had internet connections. It was a decent size when compared to European standards. The shower was awesome. Check in and check out were QUICK! I dont know what else to say. Unless you need to be in the middle of all the action, this is a really great hotel.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 2 of 4No problems with the hotel...but nothing special either
The best thing about this hotel is the price. There is nothing wrong with this hotel, mind you, but it was absolutely nothing special, and I found its location to be problemmatic. (I'd picked it based on price and location) It's located at the Hanzomon subway stop. Yes, it's extremely convenient to be across the street from the subway. However, this particular subway stop is not a really great transfer point for other subway lines and especially not for Japan Rail. Just make sure to study the subway and rail maps to see if this location works for you. The room was small (which I don't consider a negative given we're talking about Tokyo) and clean. The hotel is very much a business hotel and a very Japanese one at that. So just to be clear, nothing *displeased* me about the experience in terms of service or the rooms or anything like that, it just wasn't ideal for my trip and I think there are likely to be much better choices for a non-business traveler.
