Spacious Rooms and Beautiful Grounds

I would definately go back to this hotel next time I'm in Pasadena! The hotel was grand and clean, and the rooms were spacious. Since I heard this was an older hotel, I was worried that it would look or smell old inside. It was the exact opposite, and we were delighted! The grounds were beautiful, complete with trees, plants, flowers, and ponds.

Exceptional Hotel!

Stayed for five days at the hotel while sightseeing in Los Angeles and surrounding areas. The Hotel's location was ideal because it was central to many of the places I visited, and the City of Pasadena was just a terrific place to stay and dine. The Hotel provided exceptional service, and I've stayed in many high-end hotels. All the employees were courteous and very welcoming all the time. The room, though a bit smaller than what I expected (perhaps given to me because I booked on hotels.com and got a little bit of a discount rather than directly online with them), was nonetheless well appointed and very comfortable. I look forward to staying with them again when in the Los Angeles area.

Horrible service in restaurant

We ate lunch by the pool and $60 for 2 isn't a deal...had very bad service. Could not get the order correct! Warm beer and wine for us and our friends. A female server came to our rescue and she was terrific (the guy horrible). In the cafe for breakfast had to wait 15 minutes for syrup for the french toast...just really poor service. We booked a "deluxe" King...and if this is deluxe would be shocked to see what a standard king would be since this is suppose to be a great hotel. We were dying of heat...air did not work all night!!! Bellmen/valet mixed up our luggage on arrival...we clearly gave our name and spelled it...still they took it to another room with a completely different name! Took a long time to even get our luggage so we could get out to the pool. We stayed there when it was the Ritz Carlton and it was completely higher quality. The bed and pillows were good! Paying $25 plus tip for parking is a joke!!! Not what I expected!!!

Amazing Place

Wonderful hotel in an excellent part of the world. Truly beautiful!! Would stay there anytime

Excellent hotel!

We traveled to Pasadena for a college game at the Rose Bowl and a few days of vacation. Hotels.com recommended this hotel and it was outstanding. The hotel is located in a very nice residential setting which is very quiet. The grounds are gorgeous and the staff is most attentive. The hotel is marvelous in all areas... The layout, quality of the decor, amenities, pool, rooms - all are excellent. Our room was quiet large and I was concerned that we were next to the elevator, but could not hear the elevator in our room. The rooms were very quiet. The decor was good and the bathroom was very large and clean. The bed was one of the most comfortable that I have experienced. We did not experience any of the restaurants in the hotel due to all the other plans that we had for the week. We have traveled to the LA area several times and this is by far one of the best hotels that we have experienced in the area and will return in the future. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone traveling to the LA area. Pasadena is a great city with a lot to offer without all the noise, traffic, and other negatives in other LA locations. The value is outstanding!

A remarkable property

A warm, friendly,extremely helpful staff responded to every request. We highly recommed this property. Wish the stay could have been longer. We will definetly be back.

Somewhat over rated.

This hotel is pretty nice, as long as you don't get placed in a room in the "Lanai" tower. Rooms in this wind are pretty tired with lousy room sound proofing. They are definitely NOT worth the price.

Outstanding Hotel

We had a very relaxing week-end. Although the hotel is centrally located the grounds transport you to a peaceful retreat away from the hectic pace of everyday life. We felt pampered by the friendly staff.
