Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 1 of 79Needs work...
I was very happy with the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Although I asked for a smoking room, there are plenty of things that you can do to make sure the room doesn't smell like a bar. Other than that, it was great

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 2 of 79Go After Labor Day
Traveled after labor day and the value was great. The view from the balcony was wonderful and the resturants on the broadwalk had something good for every budget. We'll be back same time same place next year.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 4 of 79Great room AND location for the money
The hotel itself is a little out of date but nothing offensive. The ocean view was great minus plastic lawn chairs on the tiny balcony. The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was clean and I would stay again. The free breakfast is kind of a mob scene but worth it I guess.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 5 of 79Great stay for a great price
The Sandcastle Oceanfront Resort Hotel while not a resort was a good value for the price. The room was decent and the kids loved being right on the boardwalk. All in all, I'd stay there again. One thing that was completely lacking however was the free "deluxe continental breakfast." This breakfast was about as far from deluxe as I could have ever imagined. Not only was the food bad, but it was completely devoid of nutrition. All white flour/simple carbohydrates. The closest thing to healthy was the raisin bran...they didn't even have a non-sugar cereal. So, all in all go ahead and stay there for a good rate, but just plan on eating breakfast somewhere else.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 9 of 79good price, but housekeeping is awful
HOTEL IS IN A BEAUTIFUL LOCATION. FRONT DESK EVEN CALLED THE ROOM AT 2AM TO TELL US WE LEFT OUR CAR LIGHT ON SO OUR BATTERY DIDNT DIE. HOWEVER, THE HOUSEKEEPING IS AWFUL, ALL THEY DO IS MAKE THE BEDS

Trip Type: Special Event Review 10 of 79smoking in room
good location as advertised. a bit shabby. (rant!) my room on 4th floor had been treated with deodorant to cover odor of smoke. and there was a card on the table which labeled the room as a "non-smoking" room and indicated a $50 fine for violations. asked at the front desk i was told it was a "smoking room." they had no record of my request for non-smoking room. i would not stay there again.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 12 of 79At the Beach
This hotel has a great location. Right on the beach and next to the pier. A great place to play in the surf, bicycle, play games, walk or (my favorite thing) people watch. A wonderful spot lots to do or do nothing at all.

Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 13 of 79Needs alot of upkeep & more security precautions
We found the hotel to be very dirty. There was food encrusted on the furniture from previous guests. We questioned whether or not the linens had been changed. Everything was filthy! Our rooms keys had to recoded 6 times in a 1night stay - very inconvenient. I was also disappointed in the hotels security or lack of it. Doors to every level of the parking garage were left unlocked and open so anyone could come in off the street right onto your floor. There was no chain or extra security device on the door other than the deadbolt. The free breakfast was terrible. The cream cheese they had out had curdled. The hotel may hav been nice back in the 70's but it's way past it's prime and they don't seem to be doing a whole lot to bring it up to date or maintain it. I spoke with mgmt regarding some of these issues and was dismissed. They didn't even offer an apology for anything.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 14 of 79nice place to stay
We usually stay farther north, because the area below 21st St tends to be a little too busy for our tastes. That was certainly the case this time, but once inside the room, the only sound you could hear was the ocean, which is what we wanted. The only negative thing I can say about the Sandcastle is that there's no wifi...

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 15 of 79GREAT HOTEL
My stay at this hotel was great. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was nice and clean. The best part is the ocean front view which was great. Overall I would recommend this hotel and would love to stay there again when in the area.
