Great room for the money

Me and my sister stayed here 4 nights we loved it. Room was nice we had a great view of the beach. There was a cute Cafe downstairs we had access to computers. Shopping and restaurants were withing walking distance of the hotel. Beach was across the street from the hotel. Only thing i didnt like was having to pay for parking.

Nice Room and Great Location

The location was great and access to the beach was easily accessible. The carpet was a little worn, but ok. My only complaint is that the hotel advertised rooms with a balcony and view. The view was marvelous, however, the balcony was about a 24 inch wide walk way. Considering the price and location, I would definitely stay here again.

Bahia Mar

Carpet in room had spots. The bathroom pocket door was broken. Stayed for 7 days and we would have had to change rooms to a downgrade if we wanted it fixed so we delt with it for a week. Parking was expensive. Had to pay for wireless. Their computers were broken or very slow. Asked for pool towels a couple times and we never received them. Not horrible if you get it for a good price. Good location. Nice view.

Great Place for the Bargain Price

Very old, but decently kept up. If you're looking for a new, contemporary room, don't look here. The bed was fairly comfortable, room was clean. We had a view of the marina that was fantastic. Can't beat the room for the price, especially during the holiday rush. Restaurant, internet service, pool, etc were all great. We'll stay here again.

Oustanding hotel and location!

Family vacation 2009, stayed at the Bahia Mar Beach Resort, great service, location and good value for your money. Stayed at many hotels in the Southern Florida region, this is probably the best for location and value.

Excellent value & location

We were very pleased with the Bahia Mar and would definitely stay there again. The location was wonderful - located by the beach, restaurants, water taxi stop, and trolley. There were four of us and taking a taxi to and from the airport was very quick and easy, and less expensive than using a shuttle service. We took the free trolley to a grocery store and bought items to put in the mini-fridge in our room. You don't need a rental car unless you plan to do exploring outside of the beach and local shopping.

Good service and amenities but needs remodeling

I got a great deal thru hotels.com but I still expected more from a hotel that charges $145 for a room on the weekend if you just walk in without a reservation from Hotels.com.The hotel is nice and classy.The restaurants were good but pricey.The room was clean and well stocked.The Balcony was tiny and not very kids friendly and safe.I did like the bathroom, loved the beds and linens as well as the pillows.Housekeeping did a great job throughout our stay.The pool was nice but small and the lounge chairs wer worn out.The view was beautiful and the hotel is connected to the beach by a tunnel/bridge which was convenient.The Hotel's Marina is huge,beautiful and very busy, great for sailors.The Hotel has regular clientelle and people come back every year.The main, large building is newer and nicer.The old smaller building not so much.Overall I was satisfied but I think the Hotel needs remodeling and according to the staff I spoke with it is planned for the near future.

The hotel that went on vacation

Overall I was disappointed with me stay there. What I did like: 1) Free computers in the lobby (incl ability to print boarding passes) 2) closeness to beach and water taxi 3) Tower room had a frig 4) Housekeeping did a good job What I didn't like during my stay: 1) The pool was ICE COLD. Since the beach was closed do to heavy winds we ended up spending more time by the pool. No one stayed in the pool for more than a few mins because it was so cold. The website advertised a heated pool so this was extremely frustrating. Other nearby pools from nearby hotels were still heated. This was extremely disappointing since this is how we planned to spend the vast majority of our trip 2) When I complained to the front desk about the temp of the pool (and why it wasn't heated) they were rude and said I was the only person all day who complained about this and since it is the end of March they often turn off the heat. It didn't seem to matter to them that other local hotels were heating their swimming pools. 3) The snack shop was closed for renovations, Breezes (mid level restaurant) was also closed during this week. The only place to eat for breakfast was their breakfast buffet which was very expensive for an unimpressive looking spread. 4) The Concierge was on vacation and the cable was down for 4 hours (10 AM - 2 PM) during our stay. Not a huge deal but just added to the "nothing surprises me about how bad the service is in this hotel". Looking back I should have realized the price was too good to be true and stayed elsewhere.
