Good deal for the money

Hotel room is a little old, but clean and nicely appointed with microwave, range and refrigerator. Staff were friendly and helpful, and hotel itself is conveniently located; close to shops, restaurants, etc. And the free parking was good, too!

Great room for the money

Our room was surprisingly large, with a full kitchen. It was 3 blocks to the beach, but the neighborhood was nice and the price was very reasonable. The staff very helpful and friendly. When I went back to pick up my luggage out of their check room, they even loaned me a towel and washcloth to "freshen up" prior to my late night flight home.

It's OK...

I would recommend this hotel to a group of college students or family who is not going to use it much for except to sleep. The rooms are big and come with a mini-kitchen and big fridge, which is great if you want to save money. Note that the standard comes with two double beds with extra-firm mattresses. I could not sleep on this bed..when I complained, the staff had housekeeping put a mattress pad on the bed. This helped...besides this, the hotel is very clean but older and the decor is tacky and worn. The bathrooms looked newly renovated which was nice, but there was mold on the ceiling. I thought the staff was really great and friendly. They allowed me to check out a tad late and were really obliging and helpful when I asked for information about the surrounding area... The hotel is in the center of Waikiki which is nice if that is what you are into...touristy stuff. Overall my stay was OK ... I'm going back to the Aqua Palms next time. I love that hotel.

A place when you just need a room to sleep in

Loved that the parking was free, however we could only park on the ground level due to the fact that our truck wouldnt have cleared the height clearance for the structure. Friendly staff and very helfpful The room was ok... It is a great place to stay if you don't plan on spending a lot of time in your room.

Met my needs at the time

I needed a place with a full kitchen facility, as a place to stay after I moved out of my apartment. To this end, this hotel was a great deal for what I got. Not in the most ideal conditions, and the pink everywhere was a bit overwhelming, but the staff was really friendly, the housekeeping was thorough and quick to respond, and the location was great. Easy access to Waikiki without the price and traffic of the on the beach locations

Perfect for families on a budget

Our room came with a king bed and a double bed, which worked well for husband/wife and our two daughters. The room also came with a small kitchen. We bought groceries and ate breakfasts in the room, packed lunches, and cooked some dinners. Over a 5-night stay, we probably saved hundreds of dollars versus eating out in Waikiki. The hotel staff was very helpful and courteous. The cleaning staff did a nice job each day. The hotel is about a 5-minute walk from the beach, and is very close to the International Market (which is an experience all in itself). So, if you are looking for a large room with a kitchenette that is close to the beach, the Ilima is a good choice.

Spacy hotel with good service

Plenty of space. Nice people. Only complaints- close to some bars but no real noise issues. While the kitchen is included, do not expect the cleaning lady to clean your cup. On some occasions I was not given a replacement coffee filter pack. Not a big deal. About 10 minutes from the beaches. Very close to the canal. You want to make sure you park your car in the structure early, you may not find a spot at 10-11PM. But then there is space on the street. Not on the weekends though. Parking has gotten so hard in the last few years. More meters too now. Good deal for the money, I think if you're expectations are not super fancy then you will enjoy this hotel.
