Unique Hotel

Everything about this hotel was unique. I greatly enjoyed everything about this hotel. It is a great stay for a young crowd or people appreciative of art. The customer service was very friendly and helpful. There is a grocery store next door for anything that you may have forgotten, and the airport is minutes away. Definitely check out the floor with vending machines (about 10 of them featuring random items). If I go back to that area again, I will definitely consider this hotel.

Loud halls

There were pepople racing up and down the halls at 3 AM which shoudl have been expected. What really annoyed me was the calls at 645, 700 and 703 in the morning because the person that had checked me in the previous night had made a mistake. It was their mistakes and not mine. I did not need to be called at that time of the morning. I was also given a queen bed instead of the king that I had booked. The hotel has potential, but they are falling short.

Unique experience

This was a great place to stay with very nice staff. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. I loved the hotel lobby. The rooms were a little different, but I would definitely stay there again. It was a very quick ride from the LAX airport as well.

Would not be a top choice

For the price you can't complain, location wise not the best if you are trying to visit universal studios, downtown L.A. Etc... Also did not like the fact the 20.00 per night parking, no coffee pot in the room, except for the expensive bar with 2.00 soda for an 6oz can. Other than that hotel was ok, people were friendly which is a must!

Feels like a jail cell not a hotel room

Upon arrival to the Custom Hotel, we were greeted by a friendly Valet and doorman. However, the front desk agent never smiled or greeted us. She sat on her barstool and took my credit card and handed me a key. It was one of the rudest exchanges I have had in a long time. Were we putting her off by our arrival? I asked one question and got a very short one-word response, again no eye contact. The hotel is an old building. So I suppose the Custom can't be blamed for the small quarters. I was just so surprised to have a hotel room without a desk, no chair. All white alls. No decor. popcorn ceiling, low ceilings. No drawers, no closet, a very small bed in the middle of the room on the floor. I found a low rate on hotels.com - and I guess you get what you pay for.

Sweet hotel and good location

Hotel was great. Trendy, lots of young people going in and out. They always seemed to be having something next door the lobby where the bar and pool are. Someone also mentioned parking next to the hotel at Ralphs and that's what I did too to save on the parking. Cool look to the room. Nothing but good things. Staff was very friendly.

Great room for the money

Extremely close to airport and short and easy drive to Hermosa pier, Marina del Ray, Venice beach, and Santa Monica. Hotel has a nice modern look and feel to it. Agree with other reviews that exterior of windows do need a cleaning.

Very Weird, but awesome!

Stayed at the hotel over memorial day weekend.The hotel staff are super nice and friendly, they were very informative about what to see and where to go during our stay. Rooms and bathrooms were very clean. The hotel has some really, REALLY weird contemporary modern motif going on with all the dog decorations and the sheep and the crazy vending machines!! Hotel is in a great location just minutes from the beach. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Really nice neighborhood. I love this hotel I would stay here again and again and recommend to everyone traveling to the area.

Really nice hotel

I was just disappointed that the pool was used 2 nights in a row for privates parties and it was $40 to get in ! It should at least be free for hotel hosts...

Satisfactory

The hotel was clean and well maintained. The lighting was very dark and dim. Food was great. Rooms were a little smaller than expected and if you have a vehicle you must valet....no parking. Overall I was satisfied.

Great Hotel!

I really like this hotel. I stayed there many times and had no problems. I keep coming back!
