No for your family

This hotel is not family friendly. It was overall clean and the staff were friendly, especially when my room flooded. We never went to the pool becuase it was more of a club than a place to relax.

New Adventure

It was a nice hotel, very popular with a kind of "yuppy" crowd. The room was clean & comfortable with free internet. The pool area was nice. There was a grocery store around the corner and a resturant on premises. They had a bar that was open in the evening. You had to pay for parking which I did not expect. There was easy access to the Interstate too. I would stay there again...great experience.

Great room for the money

I had a pleasant stay at the Custom Hotel. My husband and I went there on our vacation while we visited Universal Studios, Knotts Berry Farm, and Disneyland. Each place was 30 minutes away. The hotel was right next to the freeway so it was very convenient. I thougth that the airport was going to be more of a problem. I could hear the plans leave at night, but it was not as loud as I thought, it was not disterbing to me. The room was very clean and well taken care of.

Trendy but scary...

Overall I liked this hotel, but what is up with the creepy elevators with blown up photos of random people? And the strange noises the elevator makes instead of your average elevator music? And the dark hallways were a major turn off. The hotel was clean and the service was great, but I couldn't get over how creepy it was. I had to use their internet room and ran out of there when I was done with my business because it was freaky. Someone needs to revamp their interior design.

Good...but would not stay there again

The hotel decor is very modern & contemporary, which takes a while to get used to. So please brace yourself for a different atmosphere created by the decor. The service was however very poor. I felt as though I had to beg to be checked in, as the reception staff was not very warm and welcoming. Even though I had booked with the free comploimentary continental breakfast, I felt as though I was asking for a favour, since you had to go to the front desk to request a coupon for the entitled free breakfast. The valet service attendants were extremely friendly and the best comment I could give in terms of service.

Priceless

Valet only parking...$20, Duck Tape at mini bar in your room...$9, people down the hall who chose not to use duck tape at 2:30AM...priceless. Try explaining that to your kids. It would have been more convenient to park my own car. It wasn't until 2:30AM that I realized what the duck tape was for. I would recomend this hotel to people who are not easily offended or who don't have kids with them.

Outstanding & on perminent list

Absolutely great hotel. I became sick and they took care of me. It was also convenient to restaurants and stores. The hotel was also a great hotel for business. They had convenient services from car rentals to shuttles to emergency services. I will stay at this hotel again when I return to L.A.

good room for the money.

It's a good hotel for the price (I wouldn't pay full price ever!); everything in LA is so expensive! I chose this hotel because it was still cheaper per night with the $22 valet parking charge (which was truly heinous) than other hotels, where I would have still had to pay for parking (gotta love LA). To have the Ralph's right next store was super convenient. It's a mostly straight shot to Venice Beach/Santa Monica area, but more of a drive to the touristy areas of Hollywood and Highland. The hotel is super dark, like the other reviews noted--if I had poor eye sight, I don't think I would have made it to my room. There is very low lighting in the hallways (to go with the boutique feel, I guess) and limited lighting in the rooms (we kept the bathroom light on because the only other light was from a desk lamp and one floor lamp; no overhead lights at all.) All in all it was a good deal and I would go again.

Outstanding Hotel

This hotel is VERY elegant! The front counter service people are very polite & the lobby is AMAZING!!! The bathrooms of the suites/guest rooms are very comforting & relaxing! Plus each window has a MAGNIFICENT view!
