Security Deposit

After paying for my stay, I still had a $ 100.00 additional hold on my account after checking out for a "security deposit" which was not removed until the end of the day after calling the hotel repeatedly. Seems they can charge your account right away, but a release of a hold takes until whenever..............

cheap stay

The hotel was really old and the elevator was SOOO slow. It is a fine hotel for people that just need somewhere to crash, but it is not really pleasant to hang out in the room. However, the location of the hotel is fabulous, it is close enough to walk to the beach and many shops and is a short driving distance to the harbor for all the fishing and parasailing activities.

Great for the money

I thought the hotel was great for the price we paid. The location is great right by the Waikiki strip that leads to great bars and restraunts. Rooms were clean and staff was friendly and polite. My only complaint would be there is no cold water for brushing my teeth or washing my face it was extrememly hot water only.

Comfortable with reasonable price!

The parking area is terrible and you wont even have a space if you go in late after 10pm.The room though is always clean and maintained.With the price, its basically reasonable and its only about 100meters to the beach.

great room for cheap

for the cheap price and what i booked for it was great, right across the beach, zoo and other waikiki attractions

cheap hotel with ocean view with balcony

the hotel is a perfect place to stay if you plan on being out most of the time. we would walk down and party at the bars and even brought the party back to the hotel, but i guess we were too loud and had to take it somewhere else. that was the only downfall. also, they have a no smoking policy for the entire hotel, no smoking even on the outside balcony. besides those two minor setbacks, i had a great time in hawaii and the ocean resort was in a good location, clean, and best of all....CHEAP!!!

Great Location, good room for the price!

Nice hotel, located extremely close to Waikiki Beach, 1 block. I traveled with a friend, room had 2 twin beds which was just what we needed. Didnt try restuarant in hotel, but highly recommend LuLu's resturant on main strip close to the Zoo. Hotel was clean, staff was friendly, does not have a grand appearance or free internet, but suited our needs wonderfully. Definately recommend this hotel to others!

You Get What You Pay For

- good spot for a few nights - no frills but I wasn't expecting any given the price I paid - instead of using valet ($15), park your car at Waikiki Banyan on the NW corner of Kuhio and Paoliaknai (sp?) for $10.
