Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 17Horrible Service
Tokyo has sooo many hotels. And most of them are pretty good. On this last extended trip, I stayed in 4 different hotels across Tokyo and this was the absolute worst. The English of the staff is horrible, the worst I've seen in Tokyo at a hotel. I honestly, don't understand the good reviews on the hotels.com site -- all I can think is that most people come on a tour of some kind and so get better treatment because they are with a group. If you are by yourself, the staff treat you like crap. They also totally understood that I had already paid via hotels.com and as a result was stuck with them. If my favorite hotel was not fully booked I would have left in spite of the hotels.com reservation. The only good think about the hotel is that it's right next to the subway and a couple blocks from Shinjuku station which is convenient. But honestly, most of Tokyo is near a station! Better hotels: Metropolitan (both Tokyo and Ikebukuro), also the Shinagawa Prince is good for the money.

Trip Type: Business Review 2 of 17Great Shinjuku Location
The location is excellent for Shinjuku Station and area shopping and sight seeing. The staff is excellent and very polite and helpful. Be prepared for a room that is a little smaller compared to Western standards but quite adequate. This hotel does not offer bell-service so be prepared to carry your own bags. Check in time is 2:00 PM and not a minute sooner. plan your schedule accordingly.

Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 17Great Quality at a great price
Excellent location. Starbucks very close, Citibank ATM next door for easy money exchange, 24/7 AM/PM across the street, and a short walk to Shinkjuku station with another line entrance directly in front of the hotel. Very safe neighborhood, excellent for foreigners. Good buffet breakfast in the hotel but sort of weird that it was an Italian Restaurant and not Japanese. Rooms were quite large compared to other hotels I've stayed at in Tokyo. Free Internet was absolutely fabulous. I would definitely stay here again. I rarely write reviews for hotels because I'm too busy, but these guys deserved my review.

Trip Type: Business Review 5 of 17Nice location, good services
I was very happy with the Hotel Sunroute Plaza Shinjuku. The area (near the Shinjuku JR Station) made getting around very convenient to just about anywhere in Tokyo. The room had more amenities than I had expected for the price - free wired internet access, yukata, comfortable (large) bed in a single room, big television with CNN, very nice shower and Japanese "washlet" toilet. There were convenience stores nearby for a late-night snack. Next door to the hotel is a Citibank branch with a 24-hour ATM that accepts international cards. A post office is also across the street. My only problem was figuring out the air conditioner - all the controls were in Japanese, and there were multiple controls. It took a while, but I finally figured that out. Overall, a very comfortable hotel that exceeded my expectations.

Trip Type: Business Review 8 of 17Excellent location
The hotel is located just three minutes walk from the Shinjuku station. This location is very convenient since Shinjuku station is one of the main stations (eki) in Tokyo where you have access to all major trains and subways, including the Shinkansen and Narita Express

Short walk from Shinjuku Train Station (turn right at main station exit, next left at main intersection, hotel on right about minute away); clean comfortable room with free internet

Trip Type: Business Review 11 of 17A Great Surprise
I think this hotel had reputation of being on the "lower" end of the scale. But, I found it to be quite enjoyable. The room was small, but it had what I needed. It was clean. The staff was friendly and all spoke English very well. The hotel is next to the subway, and closing to a shopping mall. It was worth what I paid.

Trip Type: Business Review 12 of 17Excellent Hotel, good location , awesome price
I stayed at the Sunroute Plaza Shinjuku for a week on business. The location was very convenient; adjacent to the pedestrian bridge to Shinjuku station. It is an easy walk to all the attractions around Shinjuku, and the station itself has a zillion trains to the rest of Tokyo. The street is quiet. The rooms are clean. The staff speaks good English and were very helpful. The room was small by Western standards but average for a Japanese hotel. I would recommend the hotel and stay there again.

Trip Type: Business Review 13 of 17Wow. Great Tokyo Location.
Minutes from Shinjuku station, heated mirrors in the bathrooms, beautiful lobby. The only caveat I have is that our room faced an office building with a clear view of the men's room's urinals. This humored, rather than bothered, me, but I know that some people won't agree.

Trip Type: Business Review 14 of 17Great hotel but a little improvemtns
It was a lovely hotel and the staff was very attentive even though there was a little bit of a language barrier. The heating/air conditioner was a mystery but we finally turned it off and then we were fine. The room with a queen bed was small but fit too small people and not too much luggage. It is in an expensive part of town but easy to get around using Shinjuku station. We would stay there again.
