Perfect Location, needs some updating

This hotel was in the best location possible for the price. It is directly across from the beach, on the same street as most of the major Waikiki shopping, and 2 blocks from the bus lines. Our room was on the 4th floor looking straight at the beach, we could see all the activities going on there very easily. It is right across from the swim area (very busy but great area). The rooms themselves were very small, we had 2 twin beds and there was barely enough room for our extremely large suitcases. But who spends all their time in the room anyways? The only real complaint I had for the room was the water. I thought it smelled like rotten eggs and I was nervous to even brush my teeth in it (apparently all of Hawaii water is pretty bad). It also would have been nice to have internet in the room without having to pay a $200+ deposit for it. The 2nd floor lobby has a free wireless internet connection but it is really slow. The service in the hotel was great, everyone was super friendly and wanting to make the guests happy. I liked that there were free beach towels for your use. There is only 1 elevator that is really slow and tiny (max 3 average people can fit). You really can't beat the price for this location, even with the bad smelling water I would stay here again and recommend it to everyone I know.

Aqua Waikiki Beachside

If you are looking for a comfortable, budget hotel in a great location this is a safe choice. Pacific Beach is directly across the street and there are numerous shops and restaurants within walking distance. The trolley picks up / drops off right out front as well. The hotel staff was great. The room was perfect for sleeping and showering...not much else. Then again, we were looking for something solid, but cost effective. Before I booked, I read several 'critical' reviews from previous guests and I completely disagree.

A little worn

This hotel needs some updating. The room was dinky, but the service at the front desk was friendly and the location is superb. For the price, it was an ok deal.

Good Location, Horrible Accomodations

My mom and I travel from California to Oahu about 2-3 times a year for much needed girls vacations. We decided to stay at this hotel because it is central and right across from the beach. The Location is great and that is about all I can say that is positive about the hotel. There is one elevator that looks like it used to be a service elevator, the room looks like a hostel, the room was the size of a shoe box, and the bed was HORRIBLE. We ended up putting towels done to make up for the lack of bed. The body impressions on the bed made you disappear when you layed down. We woke up sore and grumpy every morning and relied on naps on the beach to catch up on sleep. I would never recommend this hotel and the cab driver we had back to the airport even said that everyone he picks up from this hotel complains and swears they will never stay their ever again. Lesson Learned!

Great Location, Small accomodations

The view and the location were awesome! Directly across from Wikiki Beach, close to restaurants and activities. The room itself was very small and the hotel itself outdated. OK for a one night stay, would not recommend for any longer.

Great place for the price

Are you kidding me?, this place was fantastic for the price- a little small, but nice, and their working on up-grades. They even provide you with free coffee ( or tea),muffins,fruit, and a newspaper. best deal in Waikiki- We will most definitely be back

Needs Improvement

Great location if you want to surf and shop. Conditions of the actual rooms were not that great though. Dirty carpet saggy beds and the room and patio smelt funny. It's great for an affordable room if you are not going to be in the actual room much.

only oceanview rooms are recommended

be sure to get a room with oceanview, all other rooms have no direct sunlight, and are surrounded with concrete walls...
