Trip Type: Special Event Review 1 of 51Interesting decorate and great customer service
I reserved 2 Queen Bed room, and when we arrived at 1:30 am all the way from West Coast, they told us they are sold out and all they have is a single room, it was 4 of us, how could we fit in a single room? very inconvenient. Although at first we got very upset, but the way they handled it, it was very pleasant, friendly and satisfying. They compensated us for that one night and brought 2 extra bed and complimentary wine. And these don't matter as much as the way they treated us and their behavior was very friendly and helped us a lot. In the morning Manager of the hotel came to our room and apologized and they asked us to pack our stuff and they moved us to a bigger room for the 2nd night. The hotel is very uniquely decorated with red. There is the bar, the lobby and also a "Dark room" which is decorated with red comfortable sofas and furniture to hang out and meet up before you want to go out. The bathroom is a little small for 4 people in one room, but very clean.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 2 of 51Great room for the money.
The room was larger than I imagined but the bathroom was rather small. There was a strange little room between the bathroom and the sleeping area that could easily be converted to a larger bathroom. I think if they changed that it would really improve the quality of the room.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 4 of 51Had issues
At midnight a loud, barking dog woke us up. We called the front desk. They couldn't have cared less. Later, when we checked out, they were still unsympathetic. The bathroom door did not close. THe door frame was too far from the door. The TV did not have Fox News, the number 1 cable news program in the country. When we discussed out concerns upon checking out, they were dismissive and really showed a lack of caring. We will never stay at a Kimpton hotel again.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 5 of 51Not your typical Hotel design
The staff was available and anxious to help out whenever asked. Rooms are larger than most and the hotel furniture and design was very "new-age". The name pretty much describes the design....Rouge I recommend this hotel to anybody.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 6 of 51Hotel with Style and Personality
I love staying here when I visit DC. Very cute, fun, and convenient. Hotel staff is extremely friendly and nice. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a hotel with a bit of a diva personality - Animal print hallway carpets, zebra print bath robes, etc. Hotel bar/lounge is a great meet up spot for friends to start off the night.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 10 of 51Outstanding Hotel at twice the price
I got a good deal and knew it would be boutique style, since it is one of the Kimpton's. Room, Service, information about the surrounding area were all World Class. Oh and they even do a cold Pizza and Bloody Mary thing in the afternoons. I give Hotel Rouge my highest recommendation!

The Rouge was a pleasant surprise considering the amount I paid. I will always stay here when in D.C.

Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 13 of 51For the price I expected less but got more
In terms of decor, this is not your visually traditional/basic/corporate looking type of hotel. If you are looking for something different, bright, red, colorful & affordable this would be the place to stay. The plus side was the staff, service, location, convenience...the additional things one may forget (tooth brush, hairdryer...were for free while other things such as a night gown or bath robe can be charged to your bill if used). Theres a work out facility, 1 internet computer to rent per 15 min... I stayed in a 1 queen size bed that had a TV, Cable, internet connection & fridge which is a plus for me)...When there ask for a higher floor especially if you are there on a Fri & Sat cause it can get a bit noisy especially in the summer time...The one major flaw was the bed sheets. I was itchy & scratching which I thought there were bed bugs or something like that. The following night I had no problems.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 14 of 51Excellent hotel, great location, friendly and helpful staff.
My daughter and I fell in love with this hotel. It was everything that we expected, and so much more. Upon our arrival,we were greeted by the friendliest staff in Washington, D.C. who made us feel very much at home.It is located close to the Dupont Circle and Farragut North Metro Stations. There are many Great restaurants, as well as a CVS drugstore,Safeway and Whole Foods market. We felt very safe walking back to the hotel after a long day of sightseeing. Should you decide to stay at the Hotel Rouge during your next visit to Washington, D.C., you will not be dissapointed.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 15 of 51Awesome!
Very nice hotel, especially if you like the color red...as "all thins red" at this hotel. Rooms are big, flat screen tv's, mini bar in room, valet parking and a great bar downstairs. Enjoyed this hotel very much!
