This was a great hotel. I would definitely stay here again. I am looking for other Kimpton Hotels in San Francisco. Keep up the good work.

Excellent value for rate in DC. Breakfast overpriced.

Trip Type: Business Review 6 of 63Outstanding hotel
The red decor may not be for everyone, but the rooms were spacious and very comfortable to work in. I liked it quite a bit and will stay there again when I'm in D.C. The only downside, and it isn't much of one, is that the menu is relatively limited.

Trip Type: Business Review 10 of 63Nice Hotel
Nice hotel, hip vibe, great area - close to DuPont Circle, 18th Street restaurants, heart of DC, without being "in it" - quiet, relaxed. ONE CAUTION! Be sure to avoid rooms near the elevator, my room was on the 2nd floor, across from the elevators and there was a constant mechanical humming noise all the time! Fortunately, I had earplugs and was only staying the one night.

Trip Type: Business Review 15 of 63Sneaky breakfast fee
For the most part, I liked Hotel Rouge and its decor and attitude. I thought it was cute that it had extra services like complimentary wine hour each night. But when I went down to breakfast one morning, I had no idea their "continental breakfast" was a fixed price buffet. So for the bagel and coffee I got, they charged me $15, adding two gratuity fees to boot (there was no waiter, it was self-serve). They dropped off the bill as I was eating my bagel. I was a little blindsided by that extra charge, and it didn't make me want to go to the wine hour, in case that had a sneaky fee attached too.
