What I expected

For the price I paid for the room, it was pretty much what I expected. However, the elevators are super slow and they need to have ice machines located on other floors and not JUST the 6th floor.

You get what you pay for.

Nice, but overworked staff. Charged 18.00 a day to park car in the hotel's garage. Very Very small rooms. Only two elevators for the whole hotel and they can sometimes take awhile to reach the upper floors. I wouldn't stay there again unless there were no other options in Waikiki.

There was no hot water; the beds were sub-standard; the A/C didn't work and I will never stay there again!

Excellent Value

There's good parts and bad parts, but we were still extremely happy, cause this place was a bargain. Bad- No balconies, beds are small (twins), room decor is ugly, noisy air conditioner Good- Good location, wonnderful helpful concierge, comfortable beds, clean room, fridge, and microwave, awesome bargain

Good location, at a good price

The hotel is a bit run-down but still OK. Room was clean. I was given a room on my first night, which had a very noisy air-conditioner. However, it did not bother me since I was so tired. The next day, on returning to the room in the afternoon, I discovered that the conditioner was not working. I reported this at the front desk, and was quickly given another clean room with a quite conditioner. The room was quite from indoor and outdoor noise. It is 2 blocks from the Waikiki beach, and close to some good restaurants and other tourist stuff. Would strongly consider staying again on my next trip to Honolulu. If you want an inexpensive, safe place to store your stuff, and a clean, quite place to sleep, this Hotel is a good choice.

Very good cost/performance-ratio

Room condition below average but excellent location and very friendly and helpful staff. Nice fitness-room. Wireless internet didn't work sometimes. On overall very good hotel for the price paid.

For the money, you can't get any better

For my budget vacation, all we really wanted was a clean room with 2 beds and close to the beach; and that's exactly what we got with the Aqua Continental. The hotel is definitely no frills, slightly outdated, however, its very close to the beach, on a main thouroughfare and relatively cheap. Certainly not a luxury hotel, it was great for a college kids' trip.
