Great Location. Hotel was dark and very hot. I could not see in the hallways they were so dark. The elevators were very small, dark, and hot. Not satisfied at all.

The ZaZa was relaxing and a nice getaway. The price was good, included breakfast, and the service was great.

Trip Type: Romance Review 6 of 216Great, with some glitches
We got an outrageously good rate for 4th of July night, so I was able to deal with some of the things that went wrong. These were: two fulls instead of one king bed, a big unsightly crack in the bathroom sink, and someone's spoiled takeout food left in a container hidden above the minifridge. We were a little bummed about the bed situation, but my boyfriend good-humoredly asked for some champagne to make up for it, and they sent some up! The takeout food was gross, but the front desk apologized about it and room service took it away (it smelled). The room service menu is no longer totally accurate. They don't serve you "house-made" ketchup, basil yogurt, or Tabasco hollandaise...it's just Heinz, plain yogurt, and plain hollandaise. Minor, I know, but I'm a foodie. Overall Zaza has definitely lost a bit of its luster but it's still a really fun place to stay, very comfortable and welcoming, and definitely an amazing alternative to the usual neutral, stuffy hotels...especially at the rates I've been seeing lately!

Hotel does not enforce guest only policy so pool is too crowded

Trip Type: Romance Review 8 of 216Amazing getaway
We spent a weekend here over 4th of July weekend, and even with the ridiculously crowded pool it was fun and we had the most relaxing weekend here. Hotel was beautiful, far exceeded expectations. Nice little extras like candy bowls at check in and common areas, vides to watch at elevators, etc. Was worried about "snob" factor after reading some reviews but we were treated great by everyone we encountered. Very professional staff. The thing you need to know is the pool is small and crowded so if you need lots of space you'll be bummed, but we were able to snag chairs eventually and enjoyed the social party atmosphere. Drinks very good but very expensive. We were lucky to get a free parking spot on the street right in front, but parking very limited. They do have valet for $20 overnight. Gym was very nice. Overall we loved this place, and hope to return if we can catch another great rate.

Trip Type: Romance Review 9 of 216Very Small Pool
The pool area is very small and the picture of the pool on the website is very conceiving. Also you are not allowed to wear shorts, T-Shirts, or flip flops to the Oasis which is out at the pool area at night time. I found this to be a very disappointment considering that I paid so much for the room and was asked to leave the pool area after a certain time because shorts were not allowed and considering the hot humid weather I found that it was not appropriate to dress up to sit out side by the pool at night when it is hot and very humid. I had nice shorts on and a nice polo shirt but was still asked to leave. Other than that the hotel was nice but was not what i expected from the pictures I saw on the website. I would not stay there again although I made the best of it and enjoyed my stay in Dallas. I also had to go to a friends apartment the next day during the day to even get to swim because the pool area was so crowded that you could not even sit any wear or get into the pool because of all the people just standing in the pool drinking. There was actually no where to enjoy the pool at all. When I checked into my room it was very hot inside and I had to wait about 45 minutes before they got the A/C fixed and considering I drove 5 hours in the heat I expected our room to be nice and cool and it was not and they had to have a maintenance guy come and fix it.

Trip Type: Romance Review 10 of 216Loved the hotel,but....
We had dinner at the Dragonfly restaurant in the hotel, it was beautiful and the staff was great, but we got the steak and both were 75% fat. We were not happy that we paid $130 for a dinner for 2 and didnt get great food.

Trip Type: Romance Review 11 of 216Great with right expectations
My new husband and I were flying through Dallas on our way to our honeymoon and decided to stay the night. We wanted something with a little different of a feel than your Hilton or Marriott for our wedding night and decided to go with Hotel ZaZa. We got an amazing deal on hotels.com for one of the concept suites although they won't tell you which you're going to get until you show up. They allow guests who book directly to have first choice. I know many have complained of the snooty atmosphere, and I can most certainly see how that's possible. Fortunately, everyone was polite and friendly in our experience, but it's quite possible it's because I still had my hair and makeup done from the wedding and in a nice dress. Others have complained of the noise. We were thankful for the living room buffer between the bedroom and hallway because of the hallway noise. Regular rooms would not have that, so beware. We heard noise from the club, but it was faint. Really, bottom line, have your expectations in order, and you'll be fine. You won't get extra goodies because it's your honeymoon or anniversary. They couldn't really care less. They probably had U2 there last week, and it's just hard to be treated special compared to that. It's a snooty place. If you come dressed like a slob, your money is JUST as good, but they probably won't treat you that way. Overall, we loved our experience, and I'm so glad we stayed there. The suite (Far East) was gorgeous, clean, comfortable and romantic!

Trip Type: Romance Review 13 of 216Hotel was a trip in itself
Can't say enough good things about this hotel. The decor of the hotel was outstanding to the point that we spend an hour walking around and admiring the wonderful pictures and art work. The room was well appointed, the bed supper comfortable. The big plus was the garden tub in the bathroom. Room service was super quick and helpful. Even the bell hops were excellent. Our dinner in the Dragonfly restaurant was great.

Trip Type: Romance Review 14 of 216Uncomfortable Night stay
The night my wife and I stayed, our room had no AC, which made for a very uncomfortable night stay. The bed was uncomfortable too, Pillows were either too soft or rock hard nothing inbetween. The room also smelt a little musty or stale maybe because there was no air circulation. I complained about our night stay and that the AC was not working to the front desk person who just said they were sorry and informed me it was the entire 2nd floor that had the AC issue and I was not the first to complain. We ate at the Dragonfly restuarant which was good, but slighly overpriced. This was a special night for my wife and I, but sadly we were disappointed and will not return again. We live in Dallas so we have so many other 4 star hotel choices.
