Doubletree Hotel at the Entrance to Universal Orlando

Location was excellent, close to parks, restaurants, and highways. Great hotel for the price.

It was okay

This Doubletree is okay for the money, I suppose. The pool wasn't that great, which is one of the reasons we went. Needed cleaning. Staff was great and location is practically walking distance to Universal.

you pay a little more but you get more benefits

if you're going to Universal I definetely recommend the Doubletree. The walk is about 10 - 15 minutes but it's very convenient to not have to drive. The room was clean, check in and out was very easy and they gave everyone in our room a delicious warm cocklate chip cookie! We stayed there because last year we chose a cheap rate hotel and I was scared for my safety (hotel door was wide open when we returned from the park) and the hotel was dirty and musty smelling. I would definetely stay there again!

GREAT ROOMS RIGHT PRICE

I LIKED THE HOTEL THE ONLY THING THAT I WISHED THEY HAD WAS THE CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST. ALSO THE FOOD COURT IS NOT A FOOD COURT. PLEASE DONT MISTAKE THIS.OTHER THAN THIS I WAS FAIRLY IMPRESSED.

our room didn't have an Ice bucket (which I needed) and they charged us $12.00+tax for self-parking (which I think is ridiculous) - other than that - the warm cookies at checkin were delicious!

Great hotel

This isn't the first time I have stayed here! I love this hotel. We drive up and park and since it's so close to the theme park, we just do the 10 min. walk to City Walk and the Parks saving on parking fees at the parks. The hotel itself is wonderful; the only complaint I have is that the food court is not open long enough. I would have liked to do breakfast there and they even sell breakfast food, but don't open until 11:30 am. I think they don't want to interfere with the Starbucks on site. Too bad; hours like 7 am to 12 am would be beneficial to all - if they are already Starbucks lovers, they will go there anyway.

Doubletree Universal: Good Job!

I've stayed at other Doubletree properties and I've spent WAY more money to stay at those other locations. I chose this one because of its rate and proximity to I-Drive and Universal. The I-Drive trolley enabled me to forgo renting a car all but one day. So, the location and price were most important to me and surpassed my expectations. Does this property compare favorably with other Doubletree properties I've stayed at? Not entirely. The service, the room, the location, were all on par. The building is older and, though completely remodeled, felt like an older property in certain locations: The hot pool , hallways, and exterior/landscaping are good examples. I highly recommend this property.
