Trip Type: Not Provided Review 1 of 114"Looks can be deceiving"
My husband and I were celebrating our 1st Wedding Anniversary in Myrtle Beach, SC. From previous reviews, we pretty much thought that this hotel would be spectacular. We booked the a suit at this hotel. However, when we arrived we immediately received poor customer service. Although one of the staff members quickly apologize and tried to make it up to us throughout the course of our stay. The hotel rooms are very old. The carpet is old in the rooms. I was really disappointed with the kitchen appliances. Quite naturally it being our anniversary I really wanted to cook breakfast for my dear hubsand. Breakfast was a terrbile. The pots were poor quality, the kitchen stove was very old. The newest thing in the kitchen was the refrigerater. On a postive note the view of the hotel was beautiful. If you are looking for something cheap and pretty much serves the purpose then this is your spot. Otherwise I recommend staying at Corporate brand hotels that you are familar with such as Hampton Inn, Sheralton etc. All the hotels on Ocean Blvd looked a little old except for a couple. If you are going to stay on Ocean Blvd make sure you spend the extra money for quality rooms.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 2 of 114Great room
We enjoyed our stay here very much. Got it very reasonable considering it was the off season. The staff was very courteous and helpful and I would stay there again.

Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 3 of 114Very Nice Beach Hotel
Although Ocean Front means you are facing the beach at an angle, and also facing other balconies I was pleasantly surprised at the condition of the hotel for the beach. You don't find many beach hotels that are a nice and clean as this. Definately would return.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 5 of 114I enjoy staying here and it has a good central location
I have stayed at the Patricia Grand before and I like that it is right on the beach and very close to Broadway at the Beach. It is also not far from Barefoot Landing and good places to eat. I recommend staying here and will be back next year.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 6 of 114Needs much improvement
From the time I entered the hotel there were people getting stuck on elevator. The room was cramped and the plumbing was loud and slow. I had what they considered oceanfront but it was really was a ocean view.Kitchen was run down and they charge for everything ..even local phone calls. The parking was terrible with narrow paths to get to the next level and the pool was dirty. I would not reccommend this old run down facility until much upgrades were made.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 8 of 114Needs Improvement
Our room was very outdated and not all that clean. The carpet and furnishings/decor was old, the coffe pot was broken and the fridge was at a weird angle so that when we opened the door, everything fell out. The view of the ocean was great, but the room really fell short. We ate the breakfast buffet once and it was ok, but not worth the price.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 12 of 114Got a Good deal, It was sort of clean, but that's about it!
On the plus. The rooms was generally clean and the hotel was a good location, the WiFi was free and worked; oceanfront. However it wasn't enough to compensate for the it's lacking. I paid valet to park the car, because it was an insane parking garage (I mean insane and I know how to drive). The bathroom door swung just enough to clear the toilet. We got a good deal from hotels.com, but I've had nightmares about the bed and ditch we slept in, Room 722 IT'S AN OLD HOTEL and the pools are in the lobby! - What they need BADLY!!!... Faster, dry and A/C'ed elevators. New beds, by far the worst bed I've ever slept in. Shampoo the carpets and sofa's. Switch large tables and chairs for smaller ones to increase space. Mop the lobby every 5-minutes. De-chlorinate the indoor pool. how about some more beach towels, in 2 days we never saw a single towel on the bench. Horrible pillows, did I mention the mattress was horrible.
Hotel Response

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 13 of 114Hotel is well located but needs upgrading
Stayed two nights in the hotel on both ends of a week in Myrtle Beach. I pretty much picked the hotel at random since the stay would be short. According to the web site this hotel was refurbished in 2005 but it sure does not look like it. Shabby is the first thing that comes to mind when I think or it. The hotel does seem to be a family hotel since the pool and grounds were full of kids. This of course may be par for the course in Myrtle Beach, I've never been there before. That said, the beach house I rented for the week was in a whole lot better shape.
Hotel Response
Thank you for writing a review. It is true that most of the hotels in Myrtle Beach are family oriented. I am sorry that you weren't able to enjoy yourself since the pool and grounds were full of children. I hope that you will come back and stay with us during the winter months since most children will be in school then.
