Great room for the money

The room was very good, bed very comfortable, very good location, near of the principal malls and local comercials in general. The main problem was with the lock of the door, it is very old and now are not working very good... We had to complain a lot of times with the management and the maintenance gay had to opened the door several times. In general the hotel is good when you travel with a reduce budget. I dont recomend this hotel for long stays.

Good value

We were surprised with the quality of the hotel considering the great price. Great place if just looking for somewhere to sleep. PROS: great location to Tampa attractions; nice courtyard; excellent bar/grill inside hotel; ice and vending machines on each floor CONS: surrounded by strip clubs; door locks were atrocious- had to slide the card key MANY times before it would read; rooms in courtyard are susceptible to late night conversation (it echoes); front desk service could be friendlier

Great location, horrible bed

Most uncomfortable hotel bed I've ever been in. Also, they don't bother with full bottom sheets, only tucked in flat sheets.

Needs Improvement

The hotel location was great, and the room was sufficient for what we needed it for--a quick overnight stay for after a day long workshop and a Rays game that night. The room was clean, per se, but could have been more comfortable. The beds were very hard and the carpet seemed to pucker under your feet when you walked around. My biggest complaint was that there was a gap in our room door when it was closed. The entire night, even with the air on, it felt sticky and humid--even the bed sheets. I think I would spend a few extra dollars and stay at a hotel with more comfortable accomodations.

Good room for the money

The hotel was pretty outdated - no frills or thrills, but it was what I expected for the cost.

Needs Improvement

The lighting in the lobby area is very dark and uninviting. Having the dance restaurant right off the lobby submits it self to to much noise and traffic in the lobby at night. The second shift receptionist was not accessible helpful or entreating. At times her tone was sharp and words very rude.

I was surprised!

The staff was very professional and approachable. They answered all my questions and responded to all request. I was surprised how beautiful and relaxing it was considering the price paid. I will return. I love the location.

Decent, clean, nice

The service received by the front desk both days was above average - even going out of their way to help with an unrelated booking/ printing problem. The lobby and conference sites are very nice. However, the rooms are just average hotel rooms. All very clean, and the staff was also knowledgeable of nearby restaurants and attractions.

You get what you pay for

The building was on the older side and could use updating in the rooms, but overall for the price I paid (about $40 off of what their website quoted me and more than what hotels.com compared) I felt I got what I paid for. If you have the extra money to blow on a hotel room then you might want to choose another hotel, since I spent the majority of my time outside of the room I didn't have time to critique it as others had on the Hotels.com website. The bar on the first floor was loud when you walked in but we could not here it once we got upstairs to the rooms. Overall could have been better, but could have been much worse!!! I enjoyed my stay.

Needs Improvement

The only problems were that the sink was broken and the toilet didn't flush all that well. The housekeeping staff didn't speak english at all, and there was no communicating with them. The front desk staff didn't appear to care at all. One day a water pipe broke and there was no water in the hotel, and the staff's only response was "hopefully it will come back on soon."

It Truly Is a Motel

I expected a motel based off the reviews I read. I just needed a place to sleep and shower. I don't know what was in that hotel room, but it felt quite sticky in it. It was a little worse than I expected. I ended up checking out a day early and staying with my friend. I will be staying with her next time. Although, her and I got a humorous YouTube video out of it, just search for "The Westshore Hotel". You'll see it.
