Great location, rooms need upgrade!

I give a ¨fair¨ qualification to the hotel, mostly because the rooms need some improvement. They´re somewhat old and smell humid.

will not stay again

I hated the room it was dingy and the house keeper did not do a good job with cleaning my room. Also the bathtub mat would float at the top when you try to take a bath or shower. the receptionist had a attitude problem do not go here. this hotel is for people he want a one night stand and leave the next day. do not go here.

Needs improvement

The good thing about the hotel was the free shuttle service, which was on time and friendly. The bad thing about the hotel was the never smiling people at the desk, the filthy courtyard in front of our room on the second floor, lack of towels for the pool, and the difficulty in opening our room with the key card (5-10 tries each time - once we had to call maintenance). The price was right for one night while waiting for our plane, but I wouldn't stay there for any other reason.

Nice In House Resturant

The place is clean and had what we needed, which was a place close to the airport. The in house resturant, The Green Iguana, is really good. Quite unexpected. You probably don't want to walk around at night though, it's right next to a strip club.

Good mid-range hotel

This should really be called a "motel" because all the rooms open to the outside. The condition of the room varied from day to day, I guess depending on which maids were on duty, but overall, the condition was good. It is a very old place but for the price it met our needs. Noise from the bar/grill below could be a disturbance if you have a room in the front.

GOOD HOTEL FOR PRICE

Room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Pool was nice, check in staff were very nice and accomandating-m as we arrived well berfore check in.

Needs Improvement

I read a review of this hotel before I actually booked that complained about the pillows...I thought it was nit-picky, but now agree with it. I also didn't like the fact that I had to insert my room key into the slot at least 6 times before it worked...and only then after jiggling the handle many times. This happened every time I entered the room over a two day period. No coffee pot in the room which is a big disappointment for me- there is a restaurant in the hotel and it seems the hotel could make a deal with them to provide at least one or two cups of coffee at no charge to their guests in the morning. I would not stay at the Westshore again.

Good Hotel overall for price

The common areas - pool, lobby, restaurant&bar, were outstanding. Our room, though spacious and comfortable, appeared to be in the throes of renovation. Pictures had been all removed from the walls with the hardware remaining behind. wallpaper was not in good shape. As we stayed a week and had reservations ahead, we would have hoped to have a nicer appearing room.

You get what you pay for

When making my reservation, I had requested a king size bed. At check-in, we received a queen size bed with a very worn bedspread that looked dirty and in need of cleaning. The room carpet was worn, dirty, and full of stains. I called the desk and told them the room was unacceptabe, and we were placed in a newer room with a king size bed. On the second day, when returning late in the evening, we discovered the room had not been cleaned. We had no clean towels and full garbage cans. The next morning I complained to the desk and asked that our room be cleaned early since we planned to take a nap after lunch. When we returned to our room at 1:30, the room was still not cleaned. Even when flagging down one of the housecleaners and requesting expedited service, it still took over an hour and when done, we were short hand towels and face cloths. On the third day, there was a power outage at the hotel. Of course, that was not the fault of the hotel, but the emergency lights in the stairwells did not work, so we had to make our way down an unlighted stairwell from the 4th floor in near pitch blackness - a significant safety hazard if a speedy evacuation was ever necessary. Now I don't consider myself a fussy person, but this was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had in a long time. I would not stay there again, nor would I recommend it.

better than good for the money

for 2 and a half stars the westshore was fine.my wife and 2 children and i stayed for spring break 2008.it was close to the beaches and busch gardens.the green iguana restraunt was good and reasonably priced. the lobby had 2 pc's to use for free.pool was o.k.and the neighbor isnt the garden of eden but not at all bad.
