Trip Type: With Friends Review 1 of 7Elegance and comfort for great price
As a frequent traveler I am very picky with hotels and quality of service. Westgate Hotel exceeded in excellent service, beautiful large room with fantastic view. Friendly and professional staff. short walk from the heart of Gaslamp Dist made the visit to Downtown San Diego a memorable one. If you decide to stay at Westgate Hotel, you must check the piano bar Happy hour best drinks and appetizers for only 7 dollars. Only Westgate will be the choice of hotel for San Diego future visits

Trip Type: With Friends Review 2 of 7great place to stay
Excellent service and very accomodating employees. Beds are a bit firm for my taste but overall, a great place to stay. Food is excellent as well.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 5 of 7Great Hotel for the Buck
We werent planning on staying at this hotel. But last minute changes had us staying here. WOW.. Awsome place...Great size room and clean. Very nice staff. And afternoon Tea in the lobby (who does that crap)lol..The Only complaint I had was the $26.00 parking for the day...wow good thing I brought the Explorer and not the Lambo..Other than that I would highly recomend the place..

Trip Type: With Friends Review 6 of 7Beautiful place with some flaws
This is a beautiful hotel, located in downtown right by the Gaslamp district, with spacious rooms. My wife was disappointed that there was no pool. Also, the TV entertainment menu wasn't working, so no movies were available. And our room was not cleaned one day. None of these were a big deal to us but maybe a striking disappointment when everything else is so nice.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 7 of 7Beautiful hotel, large rooms but leaves alot to be desired
The hotel was very beautiful with large rooms and great location. However, upon arrival was told there was no more parking for hotel guests but could park 2 blocks away at a public garage. I was told if I saved my parking reciept the hotel would reimburse me. Upon checkout I presented the ticket stub for parking in the public lot and was told it was the wrong receipt and the hotel would not accept it for reimbursement and I had prepaid through hotels.com so the issue of the refund would have to be taken up with hotels.com I explained it was the only receipt I was given and the parking attendant was off duty and the booth closed when I left the garage. The hotel manager was less than helpful saying there was nothing she could do. After parking my car and carrying my luggage two blocks in the heat to the hotel in downtown San Diego, I found the air conditioner in my room was not operating properly, because the thermostant needed to be replaced. It took sometime for engineering to respond as I sat waiting to shower in a hot misrable room (because of the tempetature).
