Trip Type: Romance Review 1 of 20could have been better
I've stayed at a few of the Waldorf-Astoria properties and was excited to stay at here and experience "The Biltmore" reputation. When we checked into our room we found a layer of dust on everything, down to the food in the mini bar, cigarette buds on our balcony and placed next to the service elevators. When I called down to change rooms the gentleman while very polite asked if he could locate another room and call back in "no more than 5 min." 35 minutes went by before a call back and after all the time he we moved 1 floor. A bellman was going to meet us at our new room with keys after waiting at the new room for 10 minutes I finally went to the desk and retrieved my new keys at this point we've wasted almost an hour just to put our bags down and relax. The service from the lovely young lady at the pool was great and made up for the mess at check in.However, the pool was out of towels and we were told to wait 30 minutes for new ones, yet not 30 yards away at another entrance to the pool there were stacks of towels that none of the staff offered any of the guests. I should add this was during off season the resort was very quiet.

Trip Type: Romance Review 3 of 20Outstanding Hotel
I love the history and shear charm of The AZ Biltmore! Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.. I stayed for three nights, but two of the nights AC was not working properly. However, the customer service was ideal..Took very good care of me! FYI>..hotel resorts charges $28 and valet $27 a day..can really add up.. Overall, It is my favorite resort! Hey, Irving Berlin wrote "White Christmas" while staying there.

Trip Type: Romance Review 4 of 20Failed to meet Expectations
From everything I had heard i expected much more. Many of the staff were rude and short with me, I guess if you are not older and do not show off money they dont care to have you stay. The thermostat in the room was pulled out of the wall, there was makeup on the wall in the bathroom, the fan was not working, the desk drawer was broken and missing. Overall I was extremely dissapointed.

Trip Type: Romance Review 5 of 20Great hotel, too many extra charges
This hotel is one of the most beautiful places I have seen in Arizona. But there is a big problem, they like to charge you for everything. First of all know that they charge you $28 on top of what you already are paying for the room. Then they were very incompetent and charged us for the $50 of Food and Beverage that we were supposed to receive as gratis with the room. Then after all this they charged us for something else we know nothing about, we didn't take anything from the minibar. Overall great atmosphere, but poor practices.

Trip Type: Romance Review 7 of 20A beautiful experience both inside and out
We wanted to experience this historic place with its great service and beautiful site. It was even better than we expected and the wonderful desk clerk upgraded our room without us even asking. Be sure to take the hotel tour given by a knowledgable concierge. She knows the planning and construction details and all the great gossipy stories about past visitors.

Trip Type: Romance Review 8 of 20The Wright hotel for me
I always wanted to stay at this Biltmore because I am a big Frank Lloyd Wright fan. The hotel was everything I expected in design and truly a work of art in the desert. Be sure to get the tour of the building and grounds. The cost was high, wich I expected from a place named The Biltmore, but then they charge you an extra $25 room convience fee for internet connection, newspaper, and phone. I am sorry at the rate you pay for the room those charges should be worked into the cost of room. These are charged to your room wether you use them not. For me a one in a lifetime experience, I stayed there and wont be back till another special occacsion.

Trip Type: Romance Review 9 of 20Overpriced and Overly kid-friendly
Where to begin? Cons: Requested non-smoking room and was given a "non-designated" room which smelled like smoke. Gardeners with leaf blowers outside room before 9 AM... Five dollar Starbucks coffee; no ice anywhere near room; Poolside chairs all taken before 9 AM, got stuck in shade far away from pool. Tons and tons of children running and yelling everywhere. Overpriced for poor service, wasn't told about $10 nightly self-parking fee until the bill came. Concierge didn't know what "sushi" was when we asked about nearby restaurants. Pros: food was decent, beautiful landscaping. Overall - awful for romantic getaway, great if you have kids and money to waste.

Trip Type: Romance Review 10 of 20Gracious and comfortable
If you're looking for a relaxing stay, this is the place to be. Very comfortable (Premium level) accomodations. Roomy with comfy bed and sitting chairs. Lovely garden view from the balcony. Menu at Wright's wasn't to my liking - could be updated with a lighter fare - but the service was great. Room service was very prompt, and the service throughout the resort was top notch.

Trip Type: Romance Review 11 of 20Very Family Oriented
We stayed for 2 nights during April. The hotel was mostly families celebrating Passover. It was not the romantic setting we were hoping for, but the families seemed to be having a wonderful time. I would return to the Biltmore with my son next time. Our room was big but seemed a bit run down. There was a big stain on the carpeting and the lights in the bathroom were very dim. We were in the Arizona wing and our room did not have a patio or terrace.

Trip Type: Romance Review 13 of 20Wonderful place to stay
We had an amazing visit at the Biltmore, the room was very nice and clean and the whole hotel was absolutely beautiful. The staff was wonderful at every level and overall it was an exceptional visit. So glad we chose to stay there and for the rate we got, it was well worth it.

Trip Type: Romance Review 14 of 20Desert Paradise
We took a long weekend (Thursday nite to Monday nite) at the Phoenix Biltmore. It was worth every penny. The spa was excellent. No charge for use of spa, lockers, fitness machines. The exercise classes and activities were priced at $15.00 for most hour sessions. Spa services such as massages and salon services were of high quality. Golf courses (two on site) were well kept and scenic. All pools were heated and had surrounding hot tubs. Pool side food service was excellent. The grounds were beautiful and well groomed. Sitting around a fire pit in the chill of early morning and evening was far superior than sitting in a lobby (which was also available).

I was astounded by the architecture of the hotel, it was beautiful both during the day and at night. My girlfriend was impressed with the size of the room and was neat and clean. We had a wonderful stay and would do it again in a heartbeat.
