I have stayed at this location multiple times...and have always been more than satisfied with the experience. This last time was more than exceptional. I left my eyeglasses in the room, and the housekeeping staff looked for them and called me immediately. They even said they would hold them for 3 months! I HIGHLY recommend this gem!

We just got back from a 3-night stay at Hotel Bijou and were very pleasantly impressed by the service and location! The location is great - literally a block away from all forms of public transport. We arrived late at night in San Francisco and had no difficulty finding the hotel. The staff was very friendly and I simply loved that every room has a movie theme. I don't know about you, but as long as the place is clean (which it was), I'd take a memorable hotel over the typical Marriott/Holiday Inn ones. Did I mention that they show 2 movies each day? As we were exploring the city all day, we didn't have the need - but we found it a cool feature to add to the hotel stay experience. The neighborhood around the hotel is busy, so expect some noise at night. The hotel does provide ear plugs for light sleepers, although we didn't use them. There were a few rowdy people on the street by the hotel one night, but overall we felt very safe and comfortable here. We'd definitely stay here again next time we're in San Francisco.

Trip Type: Romance Review 8 of 17Great Room For The Money
Okay, so it's not the Fanciest Hotel you'll ever stay at but you'll definitely appreciate the quality and price when you're busy blowing a ton of money on everything else in San Francisco! My husband and I stayed here for a few days and had NO COMPLAINTS-it was clean, the staff was friendly and it was pretty centered to all the activities. We would definitely stay there again!

Trip Type: Romance Review 11 of 17Close to everything
The Hotel was clean and nicely decorated, the employees were very friendly and helpful and we were pretty happy with our stay and the price. We live only 50 miles away but had a concert to attend two blocks from the hotel that started at 9:00 pm... the neighborhood was awful to walk thru and we decided that since the sidewalk was partially closed right next to the hotel that it was best to walk across the street in either direction rather than the hotel side. There were lots of homeless but then there are lots of homeless in San Fran, period..No one bothered us and there was not alot of noise as noted in an earlier review of this hotel on this site so we slept well. The mattress in our room could do with being replaced as it sagged a bit on the side next to the night stand and the room could use an overhead fan so guests can have air circulation without opening the window if they like, but otherwise we were very comfortable. T he price was right and there were lots of guests that enjoyed the breakfast - we will stay here again if we have a play or concert to attend in the City again!

Trip Type: Romance Review 12 of 17fun,super friendly hotel for the money!!!
we had a problem with our plumbing...but other than that - it's a cute, movie themed hotel that plays 'San Fransisco themed' movies in the lobby every night in a mini screening room. located near Union Square, trollies and mega-shopping - it was a great location.

Trip Type: Romance Review 13 of 17Interesting
Well kept up older hotel 2 blocks from the first stop on the cable cars (a major advantage as you can generally get a seat) and from BART. 4 blocks to Union Square. Lots of restaurants and stores within a 6 block radius. Neighborhood could be nicer, but other than noisy, not bad.

Trip Type: Romance Review 14 of 17Parking
There was no convient parking and the parking the hotel required was way over priced.

Trip Type: Romance Review 15 of 17Stay away!!!!
Stay away from this hotel! there is no air conditioning, beds are in VERY poor condition and while we booked a queen room and got a full size bed. they did not change us back to a queen nor did they give us any reimbursement. Really bad attitude. the hotel over all is more like a old, cheep inn that was painted with new colors and is now marketed as a boutique hotel. There is nothing boutique about the place. i would never recommend it to anyone i know. not for the price they charged us.
