Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 1 of 13Not a 3 star hotel - needs lots of improvement
Two male desk clerks were very friendly and helpful. The woman desk clerk needs to find another profession: very rude, curt, and not at all helpful. The free breakfast is very basic. The cleanliness is suspect; especially the bathrooms -- mold and mildew. This hotel should be 1 star rated.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 2 of 13Great room for the money / excellent location/
The hotel was great! Had a great breadfast and the view from the roof bar was breathless at night.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 3 of 13Met Expectations
This hotel is exactly what you pay for. It's safe and clean, which was all I really wanted. Some people commented that there might be a hot water issue - I agree. The hot water ran out within a couple of minutes. Other than that everything was clean, the bed was comfortable, the restaurant was great, breakfast was better than expected and the staff is really nice. Not much to do in the immediate vicinity, but the metro is right around the corner, so it's a great location as well. I had a room in the back, so I had no street noise issues at all.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 4 of 13A Great Experience at a Bargain
If you are looking for a comfortable and simple place to stay at a bargain rate--this is the place. The staff here are all wonderfully helpful and enthusiastic, the rooms, while simple, are comfortable and clean, and the location makes it easy to get around the city. To top it all off, the rooftop restaurant had good, simple Greek food at a reasonable price that you could eat while the lights of the Acropolis came up. If you want an American hotel experience, this may not be the place for you but if you want to be a part of Athens, consider the Apollo. I'd stay there again in a moment.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 6 of 13Sketchy men hanging around yelling comments nightly
It's not that the room was so bad, the bathroom was small the shower was almost non existent, but the noise level was unbearable. We had to go out and purchase earplugs to finish up our stay. The staff was courteous and helpful and I felt safe once I was inside but the ogling crowds of men and clusters of nightly comments became intolerable.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 9 of 13Unpleasant neighborhood
We stayed at the hotel on 2 different occasions in the same week. The first room did have a small balcony with a view of the Acropolis, but unfortunately it also had a view of the surrounding neighborhood which was unpleasant. The staff was helpful and friendly. The room was basic but clean.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 10 of 13good room for money
Near metro, decent room for price. Easy for us to get there from the port and to travel to the plaka and the airport. Smoky, bed uncomfortable, baggage holding area did not request i.d. when we retrieved our luggage, so don't leave anything valuable there. Breakfast included hard boiled eggs, yogurt, and ham in addition to continental fare. TV had some English channels. Shower had curtain and rest for handheld showerhead.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 11 of 13A place to sleep....somewhat uncomfortably
This hotel met the requirements for sleeping about a 20 minute walk to the sites of athens. The neighborhood is a little rough and there's no good restaurants around, but you're close to the metro and all the other tourist stuff. The beds were not very comfortable and traffic noise is pretty loud, but otherwise the room was fine. If you just need a relatively good place to crash while visiting athens, i would recommend this place...if you're looking for a high quality quiet hotel, you'll need to go for a higher cost place.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 12 of 13There is no sound isolation
I had the unfortunate pleasure of staying on the last floor, right under the bar. It was practically impossible to sleep until 1AM,when the bar closed.
