The hotel was ok for the money. I don't think I'd stay there again. It has good security measures. If you're going to spend less than an hour (other than sleeping) in your hotel room per day than it's not too bad.

Very Clean and nice

I've been to this hotel a few times and am never disappointed. TV, fridge, microwave, and a bathroom and for the lowest price in town, worth every penny.

Great room for the money

I needed a cheap hotel with a convenient location and decent service. Friendly staff, perfect location to shops & restaurants. The room was decent size for my boyfriend and I. This was our second time at this hotel. We liked our last room better than our first one because this time we had ocean view, it seemed a little bigger, and the bathroom was cleaner & in better condition. They were also renovating the first time we stayed there. Negative: no bottle opener (they told us we had to buy one). Needs more pillows to sleep on (only 3 for the both of us, and I like to have at least 2). The pool was closed the day we were there.

you get what you pay for

This place should be considered a motel, not a hotel. They say you get what you pay for, and to be quite honest, this place was not worth what we paid. I have never had to pay to park at a hotel. We were there less than 24 hours and had to pay a fee to park. That was just crazy. The room was like a matchbox with dirty curtains that were hanging off the rods, the chairs had cigarette burns in them. I requested a room with a king size bed and all they had was a double that felt like it was stuffed with newspaper. If you are looking for a cheap place to stay in Honolulu, please do not chose this hotel. Trust me, you will be sorry you did. I am not sure this place is even worthy of a single star.

Monarch Madness

We were surprised by the room we received. Very old, dirty and small. We booked our room and requested a king bed and when we arrived the front desk informed us that they couldn't guarantee getting the bed we wanted. This was in fact a time-share and each room is owned by an individual. They were nice and said we could push the two twin beds together. I needed to get to the Ala Moana mall and the walk was longer than what we wanted to make. The price is right, but we found a much more luxurious hotel for $50 more.

rundown cheap fare

Cigarette butts in the pool, torn up carpet, cigarette burns in the comforters, semi knowledgeable and not-so-amicable front desk staff. But cheap. And a reasonable comfortable bed, Cable. So take your pick.
