Sun Tower Hotel & Suites on the Beach

Great Hotel

This is a great hotel. Great location. Right on the beach. Spacious rooms. Attentive staff. Good parking. Great value. Two drawbacks: (1) Wireless internet is spotty in the rooms due to heavily constructed walls. Good reception in the open-air corridors. They do provide a PC and printer in the common area. (2) Limited TV channels. Our daughter was in tears that there was no Nickelodeon or Disney. Experience the same problem at another Fort Lauderdale hotel.

Great Hotel and Great Price

My family and I stayed here for two nights. It is actually right on the beach like it is advertised. The ocean view from our room was beautiful. The room was clean, the beach was clean and the service was good too. The other occupants were nice and friendly. Just regular middle-class Americans on vacation. The building is dated and could use some updating and there was some construction going on while we were there during the days. But overall, I have to say it was a very nice and relaxing stay.

not great for young kids

I based my decision on staying at Sun Tower upon other reviews which is why I wanted to post mine. The room had a foul smell!! The maintence man looked at the AC unit, but didn't fix it. The air freshner only made the smell worse. The pool was too deep for my 5yr old. She could only play in the pool with with her dad in with her. The floor in the room wasn't clean enough for my crawling baby to be on crawling around. There is no food on the premises and not a convienant store in walking distance. The balcany was sooooo small, but it had a great view. The only positives are friendly staff, free umbrella/chairs/hammock on the beach and ocean front!!

Great Get Away

Very convenient location, right on beach with suites very comfortable (frig, sink, table). Construction a little annoying. Upon check in very little information about hotel and area without proding although service was friendly. Suites came with a twin pull out and a sofa pull out which accomadated three children nicely. Overall great stay.

Great oceanfront location for the price!

This hotel is smaller and older than the surrounding hotels but it is a great deal and the rooms are clean, the staff is great, and they provide free beach chairs, umbrellas, and towels which was very convenient. The only thing I was not pleased with was that the "pool guy" only came every other day and I wish they had cleaned it everyday because of the sand people got in there and leaves and bugs that would get in there. The view from the room is awesome and I would absolutely recommend this hotel as a great value for the price. Parking is limited but the staff is very helpful in making sure you have somewhere to park.

Diamond in the rough

This hotel is nestled inbetween two monsterous hotels. It looks small and unassuming, but it has a great location right on the beach and about a mile from shopping and dining. The staff was friendly and accomodating. The rooms were nicely made-up and the views from the balconys were beautiful. If you want a good deal and a comfy place to stay while in Fort Lauderdale this is the place for you. We would definitley stay here again.

Outstanding!!!!!!!

I couldnt have been more pleased with the hotel,staff,and amenities. I stayed with my two younger daughters,and this hotel is right on the beach,and has a pool! Every room has a great view of the beach,and ours was a suite with a balcony,full living room,dinette,and kitchen with microwave and full size fridge. We took the city bus to the local Winn Dixie just a few stops north up the A1A,and loaded up on groceries as there is no restaurant on premise. But a gentleman comes every day to set up a grill on the back deck,where one can purchase burgers,hotdogs,wings,etc if u so desire. I would recommend taking the city bus for shopping dining etc as it is only 1.5o per person. Our room was so comfy and the bed was more than efficient. The cabana boy was so accomodating as to setting up chairs and umbrellas and hammocks as well. This is one great hotel and we will be staying here again,and often!!
