great if you are visiting the U Miami; internet kept going down

i assume the internet issue is temporary and would be fixed. they were certainly working hard to remedy the situation.

Great Stay

The help was extremley polite, helpful, and curteous. Very reasonable cost also.

Good for conferences....

Not exactly close to things, so expect to spend between $10 - $15 on a cab ride if you want to go to the beach or a restaurant downtown, but otherwise comfortable.

Great stay!

I've stayed several times in this hotel. Sometimes they release an awesome value (thru hotels.com) for what you get: a great location close to downtown (5 min), Miami Beach (10 min) and the airport (20 min), a wonderful view of the city/bay, a great service by the staff and a very comfortable bed... all of this with the HILTON quality. Even tough you end up paying for a daily valet fee (you can get in/out as many times as you want) and internet service fee (below nationwide average), the overall amount of your daily price is extremely fair for what you get..!

Just Okay

Service was okay, but I expect better facilities from Hilton.

A couple of faults but great room for the money

They truly need to work on the elevators. I had a 3 night stay & everyday the elevators had a problem. I was on the 17th floor & I had to wait sometimes like 10 minutes for the elevator. The price for the parking is ridiculous, $28 per night!!! You can leave it outside by the meters if you are able to find one. Those were the faults I was able to find but overall the hotel was great, very clean rooms, I had an awesome bay view, two walls of view cause I was on a corner, very close to Brickell, Bayside & the beach. The breakfast buffet not bad either a little pricy for breakfast but everything is made fresh & service is pretty good.

Sub Par for a Hilton

I've stayed at Hilton hotels all over the world and I must say that my experience with this particular Hilton left much to be desired. First, I never recieved the daily copy of the USA today that was included in my hotel rate. I really enjoy catching up on the days news via the USA today, and it wouldn't have been so bad had it not been included in my room rate. Second, the condition of the bathroom in my room was deplorable. There were sevral cracks in the tub and wall tile, the shower curtain rings were rusty and backwards, the toliet ran constantly, and the hair dryer that came with the room was so old and in such poor shape that it constantly overheated. It took me an hour to blowdry my hair vice the usual 20 minutes. The room itself was ok, the best part being the view of Biscayne Bay. The bed was very comfortable, but the sheets were a bit itchy. There were no noticeable stains on the carpet and the room amenities were fine (although I'd rinse out the glasses before I'd use them due to the dust/miscelaneous debris on the bottom). The staff I encountered at the Hilton was a mixed bag of managers, front desk personnel, and waiters who truly responded to the needs of their guests and/or were slow or flat out unresponsive to guests needs. For example, the first night of my stay I ordered an appetizer and salad for dinner. It took at least 30 minutes for my salad to emerge from the kitchen, long after the arrival of my appetizer (I stated to my server that I wanted the salad first then the appetizer). I thought salads were pretty quick and simple to make, but judging by the time it took for me to recieve my order, you'd think the lettuce was being grown in the back! The 'happy hour' at the hotel wasn't happy at all. 4 coconut shrimp cost the same as a regualr sized coconut shrimp appetizer at a regular restaurant, except you recieve half the serving. I was under the impression that half price appetizers meant half the price listed on the menu, turns out the menu p

Great Room, NOT Parking

I stayed here since I had an event downtown. I hope I will not have to stay here again for any reason. The Hilton has yet to work out an agreement for shared parking in the 8 floor garage connected to their hotel. You're left to pay $6.00 an hour even as a guest or $28 for valet all day service. Being that I stayed 4 nights I was not too happy with this information. Remind you that this is downtown so you must be very aware of your surroundings but, not extremely dangerous.The room was very nice & the view was gorgeous & it managed to calm me down from my parking dilemma. Next time I'd rather stay somewhere with free parking & drive downtown.

Management Looking out for the Customer!

Well I went to check into this hotel. I was staying for a night for business. I get up to the counter and see that my assistant had mistakenly made my reservation for the wrong day. The rate was almost 3 times as much to get a room that day. The person at the front desk said he couldn't do anything and might want to check rates online for a better rate. So I called Hotels.com and when they spoke to management. Management went ahead and let me keep my rate. They gave me a room that day and canceled the wrong reservation. Oustanding Hotel

Very Nice

Construction

This hotel was fine- but they failed to tell me that there was construction. I got zero sleep and although they refunded the cost of the room, I was traveling for work and would gladly have paid double in order to have a good night sleep. They should have notified me prior to my stay.
