Trip Type: Romance Review 2 of 110Great time overall
We were impressed with the view of long beach from the little porthole windows. Parking should have been included with stay. We ate a restaurant there and they put meat in my dish after i ordered a dish w/o meat (i'm a vegetarian) but they quickly remedied the situation and did not charge me for the dish. My only issue was that my husband left a sweater in the closet of our room and getting it back has been near impossible (its been four days and I have not gotten a definitive answer as to the whereabouts of said sweater.) So overall a great time, just don't leave anything behind!

Trip Type: Romance Review 3 of 110A great old ship
Staying on the Queen Mary, was like staying in a Maritime Museum. We enjoyed the room, and all of the original hardware. We paid to take a tour of the ship, which for the small price, was WELL worth it. We had dinner in the Ship's Seafood Restaurant... very likely the best seafood we have ever had.

Trip Type: Romance Review 4 of 110Charming and Historical
This is a great hotel to stay at for only a night or two unless you book one of the larger rooms. The standard room for 2 occupants was very small, not much larger than the double bed but it was very charming and being on The Queen Mary at least once is a definite must do experience. They gave us the bay view which was very nice and I got perfect photos of the sunrise and the bay. The Cafe Promenade was elegant, the twilight tour was fascinating and the little shops are very charming. You must pay to park and use the internet (the computer doesn't have a mouse only a ball for scrolling and keys that are for a click of the mouse but are not identified). There is not much water pressure in the shower but it is a charming tub and bathroom, the whole history of the ship is fascinating. The free public shuttle (bus) will take you right from the parking lot to the Aquarium, Shoreline Village, and up Pine Ave where there are a few shops and restaurants.

Trip Type: Romance Review 5 of 110Quaint but uncomfortable.
The rooms were small and very loud. The walls are so thin that it sounds like the neighbors are in the same room. Do not stay here if you're a light sleeper.

Hotel front desk is very helpful and the food was surprisingly good at the restaurants on site.

this hotel was very nice. There were so many things to see and the view is awesome. There was a live band playing & we enjoyed the music. It was relaxing and the staff was very friendly. I would love to stay here again.

Trip Type: Romance Review 10 of 110Art Deco History
Do not expect state of the art rooms, you are checking into a OLD hotel, but the rooms are clean and linens clean! Our first room was very old but the furniture and fixtures were all original and in the Art Deco style that my Husband and myself love..we had to be moved because they were doing some repair work. That was handled very well and we were given a complimentary breakfast for our trouble. Very professional. Staff SUPER NICE!!!!! Free shuttle to across the bay convenient and easy to figure out. You can park you car and take the shuttle across the bay to eat and shop and wander Longbeach to your hearts content and never have to drive! Cost to stay here comparable to staying at most hotels but you get to stay on a piece of history. The charge for parking is too expensive in our opinion though. Ate there once (free breakfast) not overly impressed. The Staff LOVE their Hotel and will share stories. This is a cool thing.Refreshing..people that love their jobs! Fun wandering around the Ship...She is a Beauty..

Trip Type: Romance Review 12 of 110So fun!
Really neat piece of floating history. This was my second time staying here and I can't wait to go again. The Chelsea is a really good restaurant! :)

Trip Type: Romance Review 13 of 110Unique experience,
Definitely worth experiencing, but one night is probably enough. Go to Sunday buffet so you can experience the original grand dining room. Beds not particularly comfortable and room was small (which, heck, it is a ship's room) but ambiance was worth it. If you are cruising out of Long Beach, this would be a fun place to stay the night if you fly in a day early. But by the end of a cruise, you'd probably be over wanting to be on a boat in a small room. For dining, go over to Parker's Lighthouse (you can see it from the ship). Super friendly staff and plenty of areas to explore on the ship. Some really cool and unique stores on the lobby level- including a shake place that makes every kind of shake imaginable, yum!

Trip Type: Romance Review 15 of 110Needs Improvement
Was very exited to be staying at the famed Queen Mary Hotel, but was somewhat disapointed. Everything was clean, but overall very shabby and had not been upgraded in sometime. Poor water pressure and had to get on my knees due to the shower head being so low. Still using old fashioned heating/cooling system, teeny TV. No Internet included in room, and the 3rd party Ethernet offered at $9.99 a day was so slow we gave up on using it at all. Staff was helpful and nice, but I feel we had to call or visit the front desk too much during this visit to correct various issues. Also the Tibbies dinner show is a rip off. Don't fall for the brochure. The performers are your waiters and stage is merely a small parquet floor in the front of the eating area. They will automatically add gratutity to your bill and this is not advertised in brochure either. Overall skip it it is not worth it.
